In his role as Global Cities segment lead, Simon Giles leads a dedicated team of professionals helping cities and corporations understand how digital technology can make cities better places to live, work and play. Our team defines and executes Accenture's strategy regarding cities, supporting global teams in planning and delivering transformational projects that deliver better outcomes for citizens through the innovative use of technology, in combination with new business and governance models.
Simon’s expertise spans sustainable economic development strategies, governance, financing strategy, technology innovation, human-centered design of digital services and citizen engagement. He has experience working with city, regional and national governments in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the United States and Latin America. Over the last decade, Simon has advised the World Economic Forum on Smart Grids, the Future of Urban Development and is currently sitting on the Singaporean Government’s Young Urban Leaders group.
Simon earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Politics, Philosophy and International Relations at the University of Southampton, and now lives in Wiltshire in the United Kingdom. He enjoys biking, exploring local craft coffee roasters and encouraging his young boys to develop an interest in travel.
