Sean Wright is a managing director in Accenture’s Security practice focusing on healthcare. With 17+ years of experience, he is recognized for his expertise across a number of areas within security, working with organizations to protect their health data as well as aligning strategic capabilities that affect care.
In his role, Sean leads our Healthcare Security practice across North America and is responsible for bringing Accenture’s security capabilities and innovation to solve our clients’ most difficult cybersecurity challenges. For the last several years, he has worked with providers and payers in the market, as well as their business partners. Sean has focused on organizations’ security strategy and risk to help drive program focus and build platforms that provide insight, defense, response and remediation of cyber threats. His specialty has been in the areas of digital identity and the emerging experiences of both internal and external parties to reduce risk but also impact patient and health member experience.
His recent experience has been helping a provider establish, organize and position a cyber security program that improved their capabilities, and also assisting board members of another provider to understand the risk across their business.
Sean has co-presented at HIMSS on the impact of breaches and how organizations can approach their cyber security plans. He is a longtime resident in Atlanta with his wife and children and is a graduate of Morehouse College and Georgia Tech. Outside of work, Sean spends time supporting organizations that provide students exposure to STEM education and career opportunities as well as mentoring individuals who are just starting out in their career in security.
