I joined Accenture Federal Services as a Tier 2 Support Desk Agent for a Federal client and transitioned to a Tier 2 Lead role after just over one year. Through an open relationship with my team lead, I received the support that I needed to transition to a functional delivery role, and I now lead Mobile delivery for the same client.
I lead two teams with a total of two functional analysts and five developers. These teams support the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering through the deployment of our mobile solutions. I also serve as our account’s Release Manager and am an active participant in the Accenture Federal Services Digital Community of Practice.
My typical day involves ensuring that my teams have everything that they need to meet our client’s goals and our deliverables. This may involve meeting directly with our clients or leadership, collaborating with my teams during mobile app design sessions, or researching new digital trends that we can bring to our client. My tasks vary greatly, depending on each day’s challenges, and that variation brings new opportunities to learn and to grow.
Outside the office, I enjoy running obstacle races and going to concerts. My wife and I also enjoy traveling around the U.S. to visit some of the top Halloween attractions and events.
My advice for new hires is to work with your lead to clearly understand your role and responsibilities. I believe that focusing your energy on these tasks and excelling in your role is the best path towards building trust with your client and leadership and growing your career. Make people want you on their team.
