I support the strategic sourcing and procurement team at my client with analysis, presentation preparation, stakeholder engagement and vendor management. I help them bring thought to action as we work toward shifting from tactical sourcing work to strategic sourcing.
My day begins with a soy latte as I catch up on Accenture internal emails, as well as client work. During the first part of the morning, I check in with my managers and with my client stakeholders to prioritize my work for the day. This way, I can be sure I am aligned with my team and am utilizing my time to provide the most value for our clients. Each day, I use Accenture best-practice research, guidelines, thought leadership and social collaboration tools to achieve the best results in each category I source. I support my team and the client with deep analytics, thoughtful presentations and an eagerness to learn. I know that my next role will likely include different responsibilities, and I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to have a new challenge! I usually end my day winding down with a run, doing yoga wherever I can find the space or hitting the gym for cross-training.
I have many interests and hobbies outside of work: marathon training; hot vinyasa yoga; singing as often as possible (and attempting to learn the guitar!); enjoying Chicago beaches and parks during the wonderful summer months; and traveling with my friends and family any opportunity I get – next up, South America!
When I interviewed at Accenture, I was thrilled to realize that each and every person I spoke with was genuinely excited about my passions – even the passions that seemed to have nothing to do with working in consulting. After one year at Accenture, I am even more thrilled to report that my original assessment of the people here was correct. My advice – find a work place where the people thrive. It’s contagious.
