I am part of the Accenture Federal Services group’s Talent Supply Chain team. I lead a group of talent fulfillment specialists responsible for managing demand and resources in the federal supply chain. My other responsibilities include resource forecasting and planning, resource pool supply/demand management and scheduling and recruiting forecasting. I present management analyses using key metrics and recommend actions to address any issues or shortages in supply/demand.
My typical day at Accenture involves resource pool demand management reviews to monitor our available resources meet the needs of our open demand. If they do not, iI work with getleaders to acquire the necessary resources. I also perform demand QA activities to monitor we are assigning demand to proper resource Poolspools, and I assist in resolving staffing/demand- related issues.
My military specialty was in transportation. I was part of a team responsible for moving, transporting and inventorying all equipment deployed overseas.
The military provided me with structure, discipline and a sense of accountability for my own work as well as the work of those for whom I responsible. It also instilled in me a strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude about whatever task is set before me. I overcame many challenges while I was in the military, but I also feel my military skills enabled me to push myself further than I thought I could go.
I enjoy volunteering, public speaking, mentoring young women, dancing, wine tasting, spending time with my family and learning about different cultures.
Do not feel that your past experience in the military is not of value to Accenture. While your prior skills may not be directly relevant to the work we do here, your strong work ethic and ability to deal with adversity and an ever-changing environment are attributes that will certainly help in your career at Accenture!
