My consulting experience has centered predominantly with the Energy Industry and more recently on Merger & Acquisition related projects. At my current client, my journey started on the divestiture program. Accenture was brought on to support the technology transition and IT carve-out of businesses that were being transitioned to buyers as part of our client’s corporate strategic objectives. My journey continued on with our client even after the businesses transitioned to the different buyers. My role evolved to support a subsequent project to consolidate the remaining ERP and other supporting IT systems as a result of the divestments.
One of the reasons I enjoy consulting is the lack of a “normal” day for favor of an ever dynamic schedule. For example, I’ve had weeks where I spent time on a diverse set of activities such as:
Meeting with clients in understanding how they use various applications and data in their business
Preparing analysis on the unstructured data associated to divested businesses
Teaming with legal and technical teams to ensure client and Purchase Sale Agreement requirements are in line with IT design and transition of applications and data to the buyer of the businesses.
Volunteering after work with Accenture colleagues at a local university to help students develop professional skills and prepare them for internships and full-time careers
I look forward to spending time with my family and friends, exploring different cities/cultures/cuisines by way of travel, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, making trips back to my hometown of Austin, sharing nerdy jokes and practice cooking Persian recipes.
Stay curious, seek out alternate perspectives and listen with compassion.
