How I put change in motion

As an XR artist, I create immersive environments and experiences in ways that generate sustainable value for our clients. That means bringing 3D visions to life in the metaverse—a force that’s becoming ever more present in our lives as digitally enhanced worlds, realities and business models come together.

I loved art when I was young and learned graphic design in high school, then took my skills to the next level by studying 3D art production and video game development in college. As a born video gamer and “Star Wars” fanatic, it was exciting to start my career as a 3D artist in video gaming and other interesting areas, such as military training simulations.

After many years of honing my skills in the video game industry, I was ready to take the next big step by joining Accenture’s Extended Reality (XR) team. It’s unlike anything I’ve done before, and I’m enjoying my time learning, exploring and doing what I do best—creating engaging virtual experiences. I went from doing what I was told and making art for video games to suddenly taking an active part in client meetings.

One of my most recent virtual reality projects was simulating how different supply chain workers who are spread across the globe could collaborate in real time with shared data, using the metaverse to determine different possibilities and outcomes. My job was creating a futuristic environment resembling a sci-fi space station and developing human-like avatars. It was fun to work with the team to collaborate and research options.

A day in my life

My days are mostly spent creating 3D content for different projects. Continuous discussions and collaboration with team members and stakeholders keep me productive and focused on the job at hand.

I love the creative freedom and the opportunity to innovate every single day. Each project that I’m part of is unique and gives me the chance to be part of something impactful. And the meaningful connections I get to create with talented people from so many different projects makes my role so much more rewarding.

I spend a lot of my personal time playing games while admiring the fantastic art, music and all the other elements that go into their making. I also make it a point to take time off to go on vacations and spend time with my family. This reenergizes me and gets me ready and excited for my next challenge.

“I love the creative freedom and the opportunity to innovate every single day.”

My advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions and use every opportunity to learn more. If you come across something new that you think can benefit yourself or your team, read up on it and pitch the idea to your team. It’s extremely useful in inspiring creativity, as I’ve learned with the XR team.
