How I put change in motion

I serve as the Account Director, leading the Accenture team in creating the paid social media strategy for FanDuel, the go-to online destination for sports fans. I oversee decisions around how to invest across platforms like Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter. I also developed the overall go-to-market strategy for FanDuel’s NFL launch campaign—their biggest launch of the year.

My role on the FanDuel account team has evolved significantly over the last few months. After joining Accenture in late 2018, my previous Account Director role has developed from media strategist to broader account management. This expansion led to new areas in the creative and measurement space, which has allowed us to bring additional Accenture teams into the fold to deepen our relationship with FanDuel.

My team included Media Supervisor Taylor Baird, who helped oversee the day-to-day operations of social media campaigns; Account Supervisor Andre Grier, who managed the day-to-day execution of our social media strategies; and Paid Media Manager Mads Hansen, who set up the social campaigns and ads.

A day in my life

The primary technologies I use for media planning and buying are Adaptly and AIO’s GO platform, which has API connections to all of the major media platforms within and beyond paid social. Management and optimization of campaigns for FanDuel means leveraging data and technology that connects to third-party measurement platforms, including mobile. We gain insight and deliver actionable business results for FanDuel specific to activity within their native mobile apps.

Every day has the potential to be different, and you never know what you might learn. Over the last few months especially, I’ve found myself learning something new about what Accenture can do almost every single day.

My advice

Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Your day-to-day is going to be unpredictable, and you’ll need to be willing to pull at threads that take you into uncharted waters to deliver results for your clients.
