Software Developer Manager
"I help clients migrate data and infrastructure with as little disruption in daily operation as possible."
I’m a Software Developer Manager in Strategy & Consulting and a subject matter expert on Thermo Fisher’s Sample Manager Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). In the most basic terms, I help clients manage their laboratory data.
Many businesses—in industries ranging from medicine and food to energy and chemicals—test things such as raw materials, work in progress or finished goods in a lab. Their data may come from multiple tests with a varying duration of time. When parts of a business are spun off or merged with another business, I help migrate their data, software, hardware, network and infrastructure with as little disruption in daily operation as possible.
When DuPont became a separate entity from global chemical giant DowDuPont, my team and I helped migrate their central LIMS platform to the Microsoft Azure Cloud. A primary goal was to keep plant downtime to a minimum. We helped get their instruments back up and connected to the new central system in a timely manner. This project required interfacing with multiple systems, both on the input and output side of their laboratory data path.
Over the course of the project, I gained a higher awareness of the bigger picture and learned more about how everything is integrated to make the overall deliverable a success.
My team included Managing Director Adam Cooper, who enabled our team to bring their technical expertise and creativity to the tasks at hand; Management Consultant Michael Niemann, who focused on strategy and documentation; Managing Director Derek Ong, who led a team responsible for migrating 500 applications from Dow to DuPont; and Senior Manager Dixit Patel, who led the migration of manufacturing quality systems.

I have always been focused on the technical details of projects. I’ve learned that connections with people are just as important as the technical side when working with so many moving parts. I have made it a point to stay engaged with my team.
Here’s a peek into a “typical” day:
