How I put change in motion

As a Paid Media Manager, I manage paid campaigns day-to-day on the major social media platforms for FanDuel, the world’s premier online fantasy sports and sportsbook destination. I set up the campaigns and ads, as well as allocate budget to audience segments that are providing the highest return on investment. We constantly look at the results, recalibrate our setup and reallocate budget accordingly. For example, if a certain set of ads performed well throughout the week, or important games are on the horizon, we will move budget to those campaigns from lower-performing ones.

My team included Media Supervisor Taylor Baird, who helped oversee the day-to-day operations of social media campaigns; Account Supervisor Andre Grier, who managed the day-to-day execution of our social media strategies; and Account Director Sean McCarthy, who lead us in creating the overall paid social media strategy.

A day in my life

Our team meets daily to discuss FanDuel’s upcoming launches, campaign performance and ways to improve workstreams. We value consistent face-to-face time with clients and meet regularly to build a strong relationship. We work closely with our social media platform partners to test new products to reach our clients’ audiences, and use different analytics teams to improve the models we use.

I love working with an incredibly smart team of people and having access to new and exciting opportunities within Accenture. I appreciate the opportunity to take online courses to stay sharp and competitive.

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring New York, hanging out with my friends and family, traveling and getting up early on weekends to watch Premier League soccer.

My advice

If you are interested in learning about paid media marketing, there are many online resources where you can pick up the skills. Start with learning about Facebook Ads and then look into Google Ads. Paid media marketing skills are in high demand, and if you are already an advanced Excel user, you can use those skills as a jumping off point to set you apart.
