Business Strategy Senior Manager
"I like to think my opinion helped shape the quality of Drinkworks® products."
As a Business Strategy Senior Manager, I led the go-to-market strategy team for Drinkworks®—the new-to-the world Home Bar system that allows you to make your favorite cocktails at home—where we focused on helping them identify the right markets and retailers with which to partner and determined how they should pilot, launch and price their product across the U.S. and Canada. I got to participate in some of the initial consumer taste testing, and I like to think my opinion helped shape the quality of the end products.
We used significant analytical tools to help Drinkworks understand their market and make data-driven decisions. For example, the pricing analysis stemmed from a consumer conjoint study we used to help understand implications to both appliance and pod pricing. We’ve received some promotion in the press, and it’s been exciting to read stories that talk about the work we did.
Our team included Senior Strategy Executive Andy Corr, who led the team’s strategy work; Product Design Senior Manager Philip Leung, who helped manage design direction and technical oversight; and Engineering Services Manager Lee Powers, who handled the engineering design of the product.

Our daily work always varied and spanned across multiple projects. Each team’s leadership set aside time each week to connect on progress and discuss project needs. We stayed connected to make sure we knew what each team was doing and could fill in knowledge gaps that helped us provide a better outcome for our client.
I love that I’m a part of Growth, Pricing, and Commercial Strategy, a smaller group within Accenture Strategy. I get to do awesome work with a group of incredibly intelligent people while still having access to the broader Accenture resources.
Most of my time outside work right now is focused on shaping my baby’s mind, making baby food purees and reading through her books and donating the stories that are terrible so we don’t have to read them again. And of course, I love using my Drinkworks!

Be open-minded and hypothesis driven, and realize that growth-strategy projects can come in a lot of different forms (including business development). Also, learn new analytical tools like Tableau—they are the future.
