I work with leading retail and commercial banks, mortgage lenders and diversified financial enterprises. We work with 80 percent of the top 50 banks on the global Fortune 500, and I love working to help these organizations execute strategies to acquire and retain customers, expand product and services offerings and leverage new technologies.

My days are focused around supporting my current clients while looking at ways to grow our portfolio of clients. I work to identify business opportunities such as where we can expand our presence and which clients we can pursue. There is widespread perception that Accenture is just a technology company, but I want to show people that there is more to our capabilities. I love that the culture at Accenture allows one to make recommendations and help drive growth.
One way of identifying opportunities is through connecting with your network. Outside of work, I play golf, which may seem like an odd sport for the Swiss. But the advantage is that golf is a good networking sport. I can sometimes meet clients or colleagues on the course. And when they next meet you in a work environment, you already have a relationship through this shared interest. It helps people remember you. To wind down, I spend quite some time in the kitchen trying new recipes and pampering friends and family with culinary art.

Your network is your greatest asset—it can’t be said enough. One thing I did as a new joiner was invite all the senior managers on my team for coffee or lunch as a meet and greet. They were surprised but impressed that I had taken the initiative. Within just a few weeks, I widened my circle so that people could remember me if any exciting projects came up. I quickly learned that my network was one of my greatest assets—and it still is.
Right now, we are establishing a highly exclusive community for C-level executives from various financial services organizations to provide them with a platform to share and discuss ideas and get to know each other.
