What I do

After studying computer science and business management in college, I kicked off my career working for major telecom providers at Accenture. Today, alongside my main activity as a business analyst, I work with startups as a freelance consultant. I also apply my business and technology knowledge to other personal projects, including a jewelry company I founded called Nude Diamond.

 

I enjoyed every project I worked on during my time at Accenture. My first project was a major highlight, working with a local team of around 50 consultants on a big technology transformation for a leading Belgian telecom company. Working for another local telecom turned out to be the most inspiring time of my Accenture career, an experience that still shapes my current understanding of what it means to really “deliver”.

A day in my life

I apply the knowledge I gained at Accenture every day. The Accenture Delivery Methodology is still my “work religion”. It is tremendously beneficial to have this common way of working. Looking back, I understand how it helped me to have the right attitude and acquire the skills needed to get promoted from analyst to consultant to manager, and ultimately led me to start my own company.

 

I’ve always been attracted to work in startup environments. I have a passion for brainstorming about what could be different and how to realize it, regardless of the industry. The idea for Nude Diamond came about when the co-founder told me he was looking for a ring for his wife. He observed that with classic jewelry, you only see a tiny part of the diamond. Our innovative designs allow them to sparkle from every angle.

My advice

Maintain your work relationships. I still stay in touch with most of my former Accenture colleagues via social media, and even more closely with those who became friends.
