How I put change in motion

As an Account Supervisor, I manage the day-to-day execution of our paid social media strategies for achieving business objectives like building brand awareness and driving ecommerce. I work hands-on to supervise campaign launches and assist with broader account planning, media strategy and facilitating daily interaction between FanDuel—the world’s premier online fantasy sports and sportsbook destination—and our social partners.

Each week, and with every campaign, we provide campaign performance insights to scale performance across business units, new platforms and new Sportsbook states—all with steady efficiency.

My team included Media Supervisor Taylor Baird, who helped oversee the day-to-day operations of social media campaigns; Paid Media Manager Mads Hansen, who set up the social campaigns and ads; and Account Director Sean McCarthy, who lead us in creating the overall paid social media strategy.

A day in my life

My role involves being nimble, flexible, responsible and always client-centric. Clients depend on us to harness the latest social media developments and optimize them in tailored ways for their business. Every day, clients rely on my expertise as new platforms develop, creative/targeting capabilities increase, measurement solutions evolve and methodologies change.

People are the greatest asset at Accenture! I’ve met so many people who are genuinely open, at every level and in every area of the organization. Being interconnected is the norm, and people welcome a high level of connection and open knowledge sharing.

The sheer size and scope of the organization can be daunting at times to navigate, as processes evolve rapidly, particularly as I am newer to the company. But that uncertainty is where the openness and connectedness of the people at Accenture becomes apparent. I put myself out there seeking knowledge and opportunities, and people are more than willing to share their experiences and offer guidance.

My advice

If you’re interested in this type of work, connect with someone who has experience in the paid social media space. I also encourage doing self-guided research around the different capabilities and unique offerings available across the social landscape. There are many resources online and free training programs and self-paced learning modules offered by each of the social platforms.
