Art Production @ Droga5
Art Production is a core part of the Droga5 Integrated Production Department. It is a discipline specializing in photography, illustration art, design and typography. We seek the best possible partners in helping us build world leading creative executions and the most nimble, collaborative solutions for productions of any size.
The Art Producer manages all art-related production in the agency. Whether working independently or as part of a larger collaborative production group, the Art Producer helps bring concepts to life with an eye on maximizing value both creatively and financially. The Art Producer has responsibilities for all aspects of their production, including, managing budgets, timelines and all legal clearances.
Essential Creative Functions
Partner with creative team in the early creative process to determine the best way to produce execution for the creative concepts
Recommend appropriate talent (photographer, illustrator, et al.) to creative team for execution of creative concepts and coordinate final talent selection
Produce all aspects of the photo shoot or illustration including obtaining layout approval, negotiating cost and timing and arranging shoot specifics (location, casting, etc.)
Attend and manage the photo shoot to ensure its success
Perform searches for stock photography and secure image rights
Research photographers, illustrators and industry trends to stay on top of what’s new
Seek out fresh, creative ideas and new production methodologies
Essential Business Functions
Work closely with Creative, Project Management and Account Management to ensure the creative is produced on time, within budget and with all proper legal releases
Negotiate production budgets with vendors, through cost consultants and manage client approvals
Negotiate, purchase and manage usage for all copyrighted images from illustrations to stock imagery to commissioned photography
Manage approved budget through all phases of production
Partner with Project Management and Account Management to help identify timelines for each production
2+ years of experience in production or related field
Artistic eye and a passion for art and photography as well as interest in art, both established and emerging
Knowledge of and experience with digital imaging, resolution, image quality, color and retouching basics
Familiar with standard image libraries
Strong ability to negotiate fees with talent agents and representatives
Ability to build strong relationships and create collaborative work environments
Incredibly organized with high attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while motivating peers and team members
Intermediate MS Excel and intermediate Mac-computer skills
Flexibility to travel when needed
