Job Description
The Accenture Federal Services (AFS) National Security Portfolio (NSP) is looking for Cloud Engineers passionate about infrastructure availability, optimization, reliability, and security. Accepted candidates will be part of an elite team of enthusiasts designing, building, and supporting the next generation of applications and services running across the largest U.S. Government cloud networks.
In this role, you will apply your cloud knowledge to propose solutions, solve interesting problems, and work with other members of our engineering teams delivering our industry leading solutions. You will support application services to meet the ever-growing demand of Government customers. You will be responsible for building automation workflows setting up governance across the major Cloud Service Providers, improving existing systems, and ensuring smooth operation of our customer’s critical cloud infrastructures.
Responsibilities include:
The items below provide a general outline of the roles a Cloud Engineer can expect working as a member of our NSP project teams.
Identify the cloud infrastructure needs of our customers, understand their specific requirements, support them, and prioritize solutions that best align with their goals.
Build scalable automation solutions utilizing tools Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling such as HashiCorp Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, and others.
Stay abreast of the latest cloud trends and technologies while always seeking ways to accelerate and improve our customers’ existing infrastructures within project deadlines.
Work effectively using Agile project management and DevSecOps methodologies.
Leverage strong oral and written communication skills to succinctly describe complex technical scenarios in simple, easily understood terms.
Never settle for repeated manual cloud administration; automate everything cloud.
Qualifications
Here's what you need:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an extensive background of experience that merits equivalency.
3+ years of industry experience working cloud-based solutions.
2+ years of hands-on experience using Python, scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
Working knowledge and expertise in a Linux OS administration (RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian) or Windows Server (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server)
Relevant certification in one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP)
Experience with CSP managed services like Lambda, Functions, RDS, Kubernetes, SQS, S3, DynamoDB, Big Query, and Virtual Private Cloud networks.
Familiar with Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, or similar observability tools.
Bonus points if you have:
Strong communication skills for socialize among our stakeholders and identify their mission needs and problem sets, articulate issues clearly and concisely, and present effectively in both oral and written presentations to all levels in the organization.
Have a self-starter mentality who brings an entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in mission critical environments.

Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City or Washington as set forth below and information on benefits offered is here.
Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role
California: $105,200 - $168,400
Colorado: $105,200 - $145,500
New York City: $121,700 - $168,400
Washington: $112,100 - $154,900
