People in the Corporate Function contribute to the running of Accenture as a high- performance business through specialization within a specific functional area, and grow into internally focused roles by deepening their skills and/or developing new skills within an internal functional area.

Finance professionals prepare and interpret financial plans and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable financial rules and regulations, including internal financial controls, to mitigate risk for the company. Finance professionals may also shape and execute client deals to maximize the use of Accenture's capital and resources, manage cash and/or liaise with the investor community.

Job Description

The Tax Manager will be responsible for direct management of the Accenture Global Tax tools, which are used to assist in forecasting deals tax costs along with providing tax support to internal business teams in estimating tax costs associate with deal proposals.

This includes but is not limited to understanding and creating tax calculations in both the cloud along with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, management of day to day interactions between the tax software and other Accenture forecasting solutions.  The Lead will manage and work directly with client leadership teams and senior leadership in corporate functions (Finance, Legal, etc.) to ensure accuracy in Accenture deal team forecasts, as well as manage team resource in Argentina

Accountabilities: 

Tax Management:

  • Direct and oversee all phases of tax tools and tools directly involved and integrated with the tax tools. Direct all phases of tax deal review, planning and coordination.

  • Assist Accenture in reaching its goals through accurate tax pricing and mitigation of margin erosion due to incorrect tax and strategic tax planning.

Develop Key Relationships:

  • Work collaboratively with other Tax team members, Corporate Development teams, and CIO teams to ensure ongoing build and accuracy of tools.

  • Build relationships solution architects and pricing teams advise on tax calculations and related matters associated to the deal.

  • Work collaboratively with other Accenture teams such as Finance, Legal, HR, Treasury, and Internal Procurement.

Demonstrate Thought Leadership:

  • Work with Country/Market Unit Tax Leads and outside advisors to research the implications of tax laws and changes to tax regulations and advise Accenture on tax related issues.

  • Remain up to date on current tax laws and practices and communicate any changes that may impact a deal to Accenture project leadership teams.

  • Identify and work on the build of enhancements to the tools and related computations.

Reports To:   North America West Mergers & Acquisitions/Client Tax Lead

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accenture Tax Cost Estimation tools including the management of withholding tax rates, indirect tax rates, and country specific calculations.

  • Coordinate the interactions between the Accenture Tax Cost Estimation tools and other Accenture pricing applications.

  • Manage all applicable information (legal entity/country, individual/employment, and transaction taxes and immigration issues) for accuracy in Accenture tax cost estimate tools

  • Coordinate with Country/Market Unit Tax Leads both inside outside the US for input from a local tax perspective, to effectively manage global withholding tax, indirect tax, and other tax rates as needed.

  • Manage the new Global Tax Estimator tool as the existing tools transition to the cloud.

  • Leverage communications skills to work with CIO and related deal pricing teams through Accenture to ensure the tax tools are both accurate and operating efficiently.

  • Communicate and present tax findings, potential impact of such findings on structure and other related tax issues with leadership and project teams.

  • Review and validate compliance with internal Accenture tax policies and procedures.

  • Manage day to day global tax tools and tax technology related applications.

  • Understand and analyze financial models to determine the impact of tax planning ideas on income taxes payable.

  • Manage strategic tax projects, including projects with other parts of the Tax group as necessary.



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Tax Planning experience in a professional services firm and/or large multinational corporate environment.

  • Bachelor's Degree – Accounting or Masters in Tax

Preferred Skills Requirements:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft applications specifically Excel, SharePoint, and Access.

  • Experience in Client and Vendor Contracting tax experience in a multinational company or professional services firm environment.

  • Experience ideally will include working knowledge of indirect tax, withholding tax, foreign tax credit utilization, and intercompany transactions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint),

  • Willingness to learn and work with custom software

Professional Skills Requirements:

  • Outstanding teaming and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Self-starter with the ability and confidence to work well in an unstructured, dynamic environment and ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks to completion

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Basic understanding of transfer pricing

  • Ability to understand and communicate in depth formulaic logic

  • Has led a team

  • Ability to gather, assimilate, analyze and summarize information on Accenture transactions from multiple sources.  Specifically, read, analyze, and interpret tax and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

  • Customer focused with ability to quickly respond to inquiries.

  • Effectively present/communicate tax technical topics to client engagement and finance teams.

  • Keen attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian

  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $119,880 - $197,900 and information on benefits offered is here.
