You Are:

The Global Category Lead Buying Channel – Travel & Mobility will drive the development of the Procurement Plus (P+) Travel & Mobility category on a global level. Additionally, the Global Category Lead will define and deploy category strategies and roadmaps for Buying Channel, Data Insights and Travel Ancillary Services (travel technology). You will be accountable for global target setting in alignment with global and market P+ and category objectives. Execute stakeholder management to maximize TCO impact and Procurement Plus value contribution. Additionally, the Global Category Lead will assure achieving compliance targets with procurement policies, strategies, and processes. You will be accountable to communicate, execute and implement global category initiatives as well as coordinate and oversee regional sourcing/procurement activities.

The Work:

  • Manage the Procurement Plus Travel & Mobility category on a global level: Work with stakeholders (primarily Global Mobility) to define the global category strategy

  • Manage direct reports including target setting, performance, career and training development

  • Foster knowledge sharing between global/regional P+ and travel & mobility category resources

  • Identify new opportunities in alignment with Procurement Plus and stakeholder objectives

  • Benchmark category practices with global developments to identify initiatives for improvement

  • Analyze data and define category profile, incl. risk assessment and supplier base assessment

  • Assess impact of changing requirements, including legislation and policies

  • Connect to the market and suppliers; be close to innovation and look for future developments

  • Define buying channel strategies, identify automation potential and channel effectiveness

Ensure successful implementation of global strategy and agreements:

  • Coordinate resource allocation to support global initiatives (incl. stakeholders like Legal)

  • Lead global negotiations and sourcing activities in line with global category strategy

  • Support business profitability (incl. sales and speed to value) related to travel across Accenture

  • Promote the use of contracts and buying channels according to category strategies

  • Develop buying channel strategy, category risk assessment and payment strategy for sub-categories

  • Own and maintain all procurement specific travel data & analytics, incl. insights mgmt. & market data

  • Initiate internal and external category analysis (industry, supplier and Accenture focused)

  • Consolidate requirements and act as business partner for Global Mobility and other functions,

  • Support the alignment and optimization of specification with the business / other functions

  • Manage supplier and customer relationships on a global level:

  • Manage global supplier relationships in line with Global Category and 360 Value Mgmt. strategy

  • Develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key internal customers and stakeholders

  • Manage internal customer feedback on category organization & supplier performance

  • Proactively organize sessions with internal customers to identify value contribution opportunities

  • Global Mobility stakeholder engagement and forward looking, collaborative innovation scouting

  • Ensure that input from stakeholders is considered in the category strategy and sourcing processes

  • Act as an escalation point for category related issues and drive resolution in line with global targets

  • Maintain and manage relationships with suppliers identified as key suppliers in the respective category

  • Monitor performance of key strategic suppliers according to the guidelines

  • Lead supplier development activities: set up cross-functional review meetings with key strategic suppliers to improve performance and further cost / demand reductions

  • Support the identification of potential contract improvement opportunities and re-negotiations

  • Provide input on volume/ specification/ price to build smart consumption policies

  • Achieve “buy-in” from key stakeholders for major procurement initiatives

Perform category management activities for projects on a global level:

  • Manage the category strategy implementation/execution for global projects and initiatives

  • Drive supplier performance by, for example, discussing lessons learned across different markets

  • Perform supplier selection and fact-based negotiations in alignment with Global Mobility Leads

  • Involve the business for actions related to supplier base optimization, KPI implementation

  • Drive deep travel & mobility market intelligence into all aspects of the value proposition

  • Be accountable for savings delivery according to the mutually defined targets

Qualifications

Here's What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 8 years working experience in Procurement environment, with international project and people management elements specifically within Travel and Mobility

  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with senior executives to implement and manage initiatives in a highly complex matrix organization

Bonus Points:

  • Master’s degree with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, procurement, travel or comparable professional education

  • Expert in category management, sourcing as well as project management and planning

  • Excellent knowledge of procurement and category strategy development and conveyance

  • Expert knowledge in sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts

  • Advanced knowledge of the travel & mobility industry and commercial models

  • Expert in analytics and the ability to analyze specifications and influence demand

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $73,764 - $170,100 and information on benefits offered is here.
