At Fjord, all of our designers play an important role in creating visionary experiences for our clients and their customers. Our designers identify user needs, interpret client challenges, and develop concepts that unify our products and services. Visual designers work on cross-functional teams with other Service, Interaction, and Business Designers to understand business and user needs, help frame the challenge and opportunity areas, and co-create solutions that will make an impact out in the real world.

As Visual Design Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading multidisciplinary design teams on client engagements to conduct and synthesize research, co-create solution concepts, and drive overall direction and quality of design artifacts. You’ll have a strong understanding and appreciation for service design, the ability to elegantly adapt designs across touchpoints and devices, and an effortless presentation style that owns and sells pitches.

Role Description: 

A professional in this position, at this level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our user research and business design teams to understand user and business needs, identify design opportunities, and create meaningful service experiences.

  • Uncover user needs through research, develop deep insights, generate concepts, and craft how people will interact with the products and services we design.

  • Partner with colleagues in other disciplines to ensure that project expectations, parameters, and process are mutually understood and met, and that the solution meets creative, strategy, program objectives, and technology strategy and requirements.

  • Collaborate with the client to define business objectives and key success metrics

  • Ensure our work communicates clearly, is on brand, and delights users.

  • Explain, discuss, and justify design decisions eloquently.

  • Give effective feedback and direction to other team members.

  • Lead client presentations and workshops and help/coach other team members to do the same.

  • Establish and manage client relationships.

  • Assess performance and provide career guidance for those on your project team.

  • Lead the practice of Visual Design at a project level and help extend the craft best practices across the studio and Fjord at large.

  • Create communication artifacts that define visual design as a practice within the studio.

  • Be a Fjord ambassador and design advocate, attending and helping to plan studio and community events, workshops, and conferences.

  • Publish articles, books, and other media on behalf of Fjord.


Basic Qualifications

These are the minimum requirements for an aspirant to be considered for the position applying to:

·        7+ years of working experience on end-to-end, multi-touchpoint design endeavors

·        5+ years of driving and applying user-centered design processes.

·        5+ years of planning, designing, facilitating, and synthesizing workshops.

·        5+ years of creating experience maps, user journeys and service blueprints, interaction models, flows, and wireframes.

·        4+ years of employing rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototypes.

·        4+ years of gathering business and user requirements and managing communication across design teams, workstreams and clients.

·        3+ years of experience in standard design and presentation applications such as Sketch, InVision, the Adobe Suite, Keynote.

·        Candidate must possess a digital design portfolio

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience

Preferred Qualifications

·        3+ years of experience using service design methodologies to research and synthesize user needs and behaviors

·        Exemplary design sensibility and command of standard design applications (i.e. Figma, Sketch, InVision, Photoshop, Illustrator). Experience with Adobe XD, video editing, motion graphics, and prototyping software is a plus.

·        Knowledge of and curiosity about technology and its impact on design solutions.

·        Demonstrated expert creative problem-solving skills to help establish a look and feel for a given project, evaluate a creative approach, brainstorm, think, and respond quickly while delivering unexpected, original, and innovative ideas.

·        Proven ability to maintain attention to detail across project deliverables; management of version control issues.

·        Excellent leadership skills, problem resolution abilities, and good judgment.

·        Proven history managing cross-functional teams to create a powerful, effective, and coherent design solution.

·        Accustomed to working collaboratively with clients, account teams and cross-functional team members.

·        Understanding of areas of specialization within the greater design landscape.

·        Willingness to broaden your own skillset into adjacent specializations while refining mastery of primary skillset.

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $73,764 - $170,100 and information on benefits offered is here.
