Overview of North America (NA) Marketing + Communications

The North America Marketing + Communications team shapes and activates marketing and communications strategies across the marketing lifecycle that fuel growth for Accenture’s $20B+ North American market (United States and Canada).  Its cross-functional team drives category brand positioning in the North American market, curates end-to-end client experiences to drive the local growth agenda, empowers and positions Accenture’s leaders, and engages and inspires the company’s North American people, recruits and alumni. It positions Accenture in the heart of local innovation, business and technology communities and champions programs for equality, inclusion and diversity within Accenture North America and the communities it serves.


The South Market Unit (MU) Integrated Marketing + Communications (M+C) team is responsible for executing and communicating “One Accenture” go-to-market initiatives across 10 cities in the South to amplify Accenture’s brand, engage our people, build client relationships and generate sales origination opportunities aligned with our South MU growth priorities and North America strategy. 

As a member of our South MU M+C team, you’ll lead marketing and communications to fortify local market reputation as well as drive South-wide priority programs.  At the South MU level, you’ll build relationships with our business and sales leaders to bring creative, innovative and fresh integrated experiences to our clients, prospects and teams—creating a sense of belonging and advancing our growth priorities as well as what we care deeply about as a company including inclusion, equality, sustainability and new skilling. You’ll collaborate with key members of the marketing organization to develop and execute campaigns utilizing traditional and digital marketing channels such as Accenture or third-party led events, sponsorships, paid media/social, organic social, email, press releases, email, internal communications and more.  You will also help to orchestrate “One Accenture” South Market Unit go-to-market strategies designed to build client relationships, grow the pipeline via multi-service, integrated sales and marketing campaigns, focused on market unit growth priorities aligned to our North America strategy.  

Within the Houston metro, you will be responsible for developing and executing the Houston office marketing plan to build our brand and consideration with local clients, prospects, community partners and recruits as it aligns to the business strategy set by the Houston Office Managing Director. This includes amplifying our local leaders as business and technology experts invested in the long-term growth with local G2000 business executives, civic leaders, alliance partners, networking associations and non-profits.

The integrated M+C Lead will report to the South Market Unit Marketing + Communications Regional Lead and collaborate across the MU and North America on a consistent, seamless, multi-dimensional brand experience for our clients and our people. Your time will be split approximately 50/50 between South MU-wide and Houston marketing and communications initiatives. This includes measuring success and reporting results to course correct as often as needed to help our clients and Accenture succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and support Houston client engagement marketing programs with an emphasis on Accenture-owned multi-client events

  • Manage all Houston-based business, technology, and innovation community relationships and Accenture’s involvement with each

  • Execute and support planned sponsorships and events across the South market unit

  • Contribute to and continually refine the South market unit campaign strategy, leveraging the Global and Market activation toolkit, to bring compelling stories and experiences to South market unit-based clients at an industry or cross-industry level. All in collaboration with North America, global Marketing + Communications and sales teams.

  • Develop recap reports for all external marketing activities, summarizing the outcome of each activity, capturing the appropriate key performance indicators and success metrics

  • Research speaking opportunities for Accenture thought leaders

  • Draft and post articles on internal portals

  • Draft/write social media content

  • Collaborates with other marketing and communications professionals, with strong exchange and teamwork with marketing colleagues in the South market unit

YOUR EXPERIENCE: Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field

  • Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of integrated marketing and communications experience with proven track record of delivering results

  • Location: Current resident of Houston and familiar with the local and regional business community and landscape

  • Comfortable managing relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders as well as “rolling up your sleeves” in program management and execution

  • Proficient with analytics and adept at measuring and optimizing marketing programs

  • Experience coaching a team

  • Understanding of digital and industry trends

  • Professional services marketing experience 

  • Expert project management skills

  • Expert budget management and financial reporting skills, including large budgets with multiple vendors and deliverables

  • Familiarity with and data compliance

Professional Skills

  • Track record in integrated marketing and communications, including but not limited to digital, social, events, and sponsorships with a focus on brand awareness, sales growth, talent and reputation

  • Superior communications, writing, storytelling and presentation skills

  • Strong collaborator with experience building effective relationships in large, complex organizations

  • Strong business acumen

  • Ability to develop and apply creative solutions to complex issues

  • Ability to motivate, develop and maximize effectiveness of team members

  • Highly detailed with a passion for well-executed deliverables

  • Ability to work autonomously and independently, yet integrate appropriately with other areas of Marketing & Communications and other groups within Accenture

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $113,400 - $171,599 and information on benefits offered is here.
