Application Support Engineer
Project Role Description : Act as software detectives, provide a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems.
Must have skills : Microsoft Power Business Intelligence (BI), Tableau
Good to have skills : Microsoft SQL Server
Minimum 5 year(s) of experience is required
Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education
Mandatory to work in rotational shifts 24*7 to ensure full-day support coverage of applications and data workflows
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Application Support Engineer to monitor and maintain applications
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation of application, promptly identifying and resolving issues, performing root cause analysis, executing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and communicating effectively with stakeholders and escalation teams.
Key Responsibilities:
L2 (BI Platform Operations)
Operational triage: validate schedules, credentials, publishing states, and connection health (Gateways/Bridge).
Initial performance triage: slow dashboards/reports, concurrency, capacity symptoms.
Trigger and monitor scripts:
o Basic: refresh retries, single-project visibility audits, inventory/metadata exports.
o Advanced: gateway/Bridge diagnostics/cleanup, bulk permission alignment, capacity/quota snapshots, OAuth/credential rotation validation.
Monitor logs/telemetry verify outcomes communicate results assemble evidence for escalations.
Coordinate and validate changes:
o Infrastructure-led updates: pre/post health checks and validation scripts.
o L3/L4-led platform/gateway/Bridge/data connector updates: smoke tests and validation escalate anomalies.
Access and role/license checks basic permission visibility validation.
User assistance: navigation, filters, subscriptions/alerts, locating content.
Refresh awareness: check status/history and notify content owners of failures.
Triage: collect full context (platform, identifiers, error codes/messages, timestamps, screenshots) and route to L2.
Communicate status to stakeholders track tickets.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Power Business Intelligence (BI), Tableau.
- Good To Have Skills: Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and data visualization techniques
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience with debugging and troubleshooting complex software issues.
- Should have investment Banking knowledge
