Job Description

The New Skies Pod Lead manages a team (“pod”) that installs or upgrades Navitaire clients onto a new release of the Navitaire reservation system (New Skies).   Throughout the install process, the Pod Lead supervises a variety of tasks ranging from application deployment, configuration, performance testing and go-live.  In this role, they will require strong troubleshooting skills across a distributed Windows environment with multiple interfaces.  The Pod Lead will have direct interaction with clients requiring strong technical and communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Overseeing several application deployments for New Skies and ancillary products during initial install and subsequent upgrades during the course of the project.

  • Oversee and support our customers during their UAT cycle and upgrades.

  • Team Management

  • Training team members.

  • Help team members troubleshoot and identify issues

  • Responsible for operational quality assurance of the environment.  This includes:

  • Full operational certification of environments.

  • Clean sign off from the run of the Validator tool for the client’s UAT account.

  • Oversee that all monitoring is in place and working properly.

  • Audit that EPIC is configured properly and receiving all transaction data.

  • Review implementation checklist

  • Create, maintain and enforce Install Team processes

  • Install documents and build templates.

  • Project plan templates.

  • Automated and manual checklists.

  • Oversee client logged Remedy INC’s during the course of the project.

  • Project Management

  • Review and provide feedback of Statements of Work (SOW) and project start up documents.

  • Oversee the team (“Pod”) and several concurrent projects.

  • Ensure work load is balance across team members.

  • Understand team capacity

  • Manage team demand

  • Identify project milestones, timelines, deadlines and ensure proper completion.

  • Identify, communicate and help mitigate project risks and critical issues.

  • Provide weekly pod status reports.

  • Coordinate IT resources for specific events.

  • Performance Test

  • Test and update performance test scripts

  • Coordinate and execute performance tests.

  • Identify and troubleshoot bottlenecks.

  • Collect and document performance test results

  • Maintain performance test documents and templates.

  • Oversee performance testing of the environment to ensure contractual compliance before go-live.

  • Coordinate and participate in the go-live readiness exercise for assigned client(s)

  • Lead go-live operational tasks to bring production environments live.

  • Once complete with the go-live, resolve all outstanding issues to allow for the successful hand-off to Production Management run support.

  • Enforce and comply with change management processes.

  • Review and provide approval

  • Review work plans.

  • Working in .Net/C# Environments/Configurations

  • Web sites, application pools and tuning up IIS.

Qualifications

Minimum Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with Windows 2016/2019 and Windows services

  • Experience with Event Log, RDP, Telnet, SMTP, Clusters, and Memory Dumps

  • Experience working with Users, groups, OU’s

  • FTP, SFTP, XML experience

  • Experience working with IIS 6.0, 7.0, 7.5, and web sites

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)   

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Directory experience

  • Azure experience

  • SQL Server:

    • SQL language

    • SQL Management Studio

    • SQL Reporting Services

    • SQL profiler.

  • Networking:

    • Load balancers

    • Firewalls

  • Production Support:

    • Understanding of multi-tier applications in production environments

    • Experience in supporting, deploying and monitoring large production applications

    • Change control processes

    • Experience troubleshooting bottlenecks in multi-tier applications hosted in production environments.

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $56,500 -$94,799 and information on benefits offered is here.
