Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Sr. Construction Manager, ANS
THE WORK:
- You'll oversee the inspection of all aspects of construction through project completion.
- You'll interpret plans, specifications, and codes to ensure contract work complies with applicable regulations.
- You'll conduct and lead meetings including pre-bid, pre-construction, and weekly coordination with contractors, engineers, and residents.
- You'll supervise project inspectors and testing technicians, and review and submit their reports and photographs to clients weekly.
- You'll review construction schedules, identify critical path activities, and recommend adjustments to maintain project timelines.
- You'll evaluate construction cost estimates and budgets for accuracy based on industry-standard rates and costs.
- You'll manage construction documents using software tools such as Procore.
- You'll monitor construction sites for safety compliance and approve Non-Conformance Reports when needed.
- You'll maintain required project records, including daily logs and photographic documentation.
- You'll prepare or review contractor payment reports and oversee testing and reporting of labor, materials, and equipment.
- You'll verify construction work aligns with plans, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- You'll identify sequencing issues and recommend strategies to expedite project completion.
- You'll conduct quality assurance checks and help enforce a safe work environment.
- You'll provide or oversee safety and security services including equipment, personnel, and traffic control reviews.
- You'll coordinate and ensure timely submission of inspection reports, cost estimates, and maintenance records.
- You'll manage and verify technical inspections such as soil testing, concrete, asphalt, and reinforcing steel for compliance.
- You'll support geotechnical and survey data collection, interpretation, and reporting.
- You'll oversee lab activities and validate contractor test results.
- You'll allocate inspection resources and supervise qualified inspection staff.
- You'll develop growth strategies and proposals for new business in emerging markets.
- Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.
$165,000 - $185,000 a year
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Minimum of 10 (ten) plus years of field experience on municipal, parks, roadways, parking lots, storm drains and utility construction projects
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Able to obtain Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-hour training certification prior to work
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- Experience working in a Public Works agency or as a consultant for a Public Works agency
- Understanding of geotechnical, electrical, communications and structural elements
- Owners representative experience managing capital improvement projects
