The Work

This role will support the Operations & Maintenance team's EDW 2.0 platform, which is a data analytics platform hosted in AWS, intended to replace an on-premise EDW. The new EDW 2.0 platform offers services for storage (S3 Data Lake, RDS Oracle, RDS PostgreSQL Redshift, Neo4j), ETL and cluster compute (AWS EMR, AWS Glue), graphs visualization (Linkurious), data federation (Starburst Trino) and data access & security (Privacera). You will also be responsible for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining RDS Oracle, RDS PostgreSQL, and Redshift databases which are used as the target destinations to store data generated from ETL jobs. You will also be maintaining these database instances and/or clusters. You will help the team in addressing tasks or activities that usually fall in the following categories:

  • Intake Process for User Support – support and manage the intake process of requests for user support and/or investigation of users and creating tickets to track work using Agile Kanban methodology.
  • Security & Patching – review and resolve vulnerabilities in EC2 instances, test and deploy security patches for our applications. Establish and maintain patching schedule.
  • Customer Deployments – assist customers in migrating data to one of our storage services, deploy infrastructure as code templates to provision resources such as EC2 instances, Redshift clusters, RDS PostgreSQL databases, Glue jobs and crawlers.
  • Application Upgrades – using infrastructure as code templates, deploy and test new versions of our applications in our Development environment and migrate to Production.
  • Infrastructure Performance Tuning – monitoring Starburst clusters to confirm if they are scaling up/down, as configured. Provide design recommendations to optimize performance of databases.
  • Application & Infrastructure Troubleshooting – investigate and resolve issues with the applications hosted in the platform (ex. Starburst cannot connect to a data source or audit logs from Starburst are not being ingested by Privacera)
  • Catalog Connections – create connections to new data sources in Starburst.
  • Platform Outages – investigate and resolve outages with applications and/or services that prevent users from accessing data in the platform (ex. Starburst clusters are shut down)
  • Application Monitoring – daily check-in to validate that all applications and/or services are up and running in the morning, creating automated alerts indicating if any of our applications is down.
  • Documentation – create user documentation based on tickets supported. Maintain database (enabling/performing backups, applying patches as needed, restore databases from backups

Compensation for our Development Programs varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, development program, role and skill set. As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City or Washington as set forth below and information on benefits offered is here.   


Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role: 

California:         $73,900 – $168,400 

Colorado:        $73,900 – $145,500 

New York City: $85,500 – $168,400 

Washington:    $78,600 – $154,900
