Corporate Functions – Marketing & Communications

As part of this team, you’ll play a key role in helping Accenture execute its strategy. You’ll work with a diverse team of innovative marketing experts who focus on the following areas: global brand management and advertising; global events and sponsorships; internal communications; marketing research; media and industry analyst relations; corporate and financial communications; internet marketing; recruitment marketing; client-centric marketing; and industry, service line and geographic marketing campaigns.

 

YOUR ROLE: Marketing & Communications Lead, U.S. West Region

 

The role of the Marketing & Communications Lead, U.S. West Region is to design, develop and execute an integrated marketing and communications plan to help grow Accenture’s business in the North America West Region primarily out of Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Portland and Seattle.  To achieve this, the individual will be responsible for positioning Accenture as a leading local company while building consideration for our capabilities across target clients, recruits, and employees. The individual will also be responsible for helping Accenture build connections in and becoming part of the fabric of the local communities within the region and positioning our executives as business leaders and experts in those communities among G2000 company executives, the media, key government leaders, technology ecosystem partners, important local business networking associations and non-profits.

 

This person will lead a cross-functional Marketing & Communications team spread across the region.   The position reports to the Senior Managing Director – Marketing & Communications – North America and is accountable to the Region Managing Director – U.S. West and West Region Leadership Council for all aspects of geographic Marketing & Communications in the West.  These activities are grouped into five key areas:  

  1. Developing the Marketing & Communications strategy and directing the planning and execution of all regional marketing activities designed to engage client and targets; candidates; employees; alumni and influencers.
  2. Building the profiles of our key leaders within the region by leveraging media relations opportunities as well as social media, digital, and face-to-face opportunities.
  3. Working collaboratively with industry and business marketing; media and analyst relations; talent brand and internal communications leads across all parts of Accenture within the West region.
  4. Leading Marketing strategy/plans to support key relationships in the region, including universities (targeted for recruiting and/or partnerships); nonprofits; and other key civic and business organizations.
  5. Directing the design and execution of programs to help our leaders communicate and engage with our people. 

While there is never a typical day at Accenture, here is a list of some of your key responsibilities:

  • Member of the North America Marketing & Communications leadership team, contributing to and executing the overall North America geographic marketing strategy and liaising with the other Region Marketing & Communications leads to lead programs and to share best practices.  
  • Represent Marketing & Communications on the Region Leadership Council for the U.S. West Region. 
  • Work with Region Managing Director – U.S. West and Office Managing Directors to define key Marketing & Communications priorities across the region. 
  • Involvement in the hiring and training of all new Geographic Marketing & Communications professionals in the West. 
  • Drive a sense of community for all Marketing & Communications professionals within the region.
  • Local Market Reputation & Executive Communication and Positioning. 
  • Client Experience Program.

  • Relationship Development Program.

  • Talent Brand and Candidate Marketing.

  • People Communications and Employee Experience Program.

  • Be accountable for the delivery of differentiated and disruptive marketing programs for Accenture in the Northeast region. 

  • Optimize marketing spend by directing investment to the most impactful Marketing & Communications programs. 

  • Seek and assess input from the regional and local leadership teams on local image strategy and programs. 

  • Ensure all local image programs within the region are appropriately resourced and executed.


 



Qualifications

YOUR EXPERIENCE: Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in marketing and/or marketing communications roles

Work Experience:

SET YOURSELF APART: Preferred Skills

  • Experience using digital and social marketing to amplify traditional marketing efforts
  • Understanding of new digital business trends, environment and players
  • Professional services marketing experience preferred
  • Deep expertise and skills in strategic Marketing & Communications, especially in area of specialization or crossing several functional/technical areas
  • Expert in integrated marketing concepts, branding and message development
  • Excellent working experience in all aspects of Marketing & Communications, especially media and analyst relations, advertising, internet marketing, internal communications, collateral production, credential development and recruitment marketing
  • Strong global perspective
  • Experience in services and/or business to business marketing
  • Broad understanding of business marketplace and relationships with experts in area of specialization outside Accenture
  • Expert project management skills
  • Expert budget management and financial reporting skills, including budgets with multiple vendors and deliverables

Professional Skills

  • Proven leadership skills—team building, supervision, mentoring and managing of diverse and virtual teams to drive integration
  • Strong and deep overall business acumen and good knowledge of Accenture’s area of business and overall business strategy
  • Able to influence highest levels of leadership within Accenture’s large, matrixed organization through relationship building and strong executive-level presence
  • Ability to develop and apply creative and ingenious solutions to complex issues
  • Superior oral and written communications skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently, yet integrate appropriately with other areas within Marketing & Communications and other areas within Accenture
  • Passion for well-executed deliverables in support of Accenture business strategy
  • Superior negotiation, mediation and conflict management skills to resolve complex, high-risk, high-impact issues
  • Thrive on working in intense, deliverable-driven and deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian

Work Requirements:

This position is expected to work in the San Francisco office
