Mergers & Acquisitions Strategy Manager – IT
You’ll focus on developing and helping to execute inorganic growth and focusing strategies enabled by IT through mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, partnering, and alliances, enabling clients to enter new markets and channels as well as consolidate and leverage scale or re-focus in existing markets. Our IT M&A Strategy practitioners:
  • Help clients ensure that their M&A strategy aligns with their broader corporate strategy and realize the technology implications of that strategy
  • Research and understand the global trends and technology trends that impact and disrupt the client’s business, industry, and functions
  • Mentally pivot between what the business need is and what the technology can do; connecting the two to develop and deliver the right value, strategy, and solution
  • Lead teams across the full lifecycle—target screening, due diligence, pre-deal planning, post-deal integration/separation—of the most prestigious M&A deals while accelerating transformation through next generation analytics and digital tools
  • Define IT synergy opportunities and cost to achieve by understanding, articulating and quantifying the client value including levers that drive value and expected outcomes
  • Evaluate technology capabilities and requirements to identify potential sources of risk in a transaction and develop remediation strategies to mitigate and manage those risks
  • Provide journey leadership, guidance and recommendations to C-level executives throughout a transaction on effective ways to leverage IT within the transaction
  • Drive alignment and balance across transaction, company strategy, and regulatory requirements
  • Effectively leverage all Accenture practices (Strategy, Consulting, Digital, Security, etc.) to bring the best value and solution to our clients
  • Assess technology landscape (applications, infrastructure) and articulate future state blueprint and enterprise architecture for merged entities based on leading practice and trends
  • Help clients drive a disciplined transaction through coordinated initiative planning, integrated communications, and an orchestrated process to identify and resolve issues, risks, and dependencies
  • Develop written and oral communications to obtain the highest impact and understand how to shape messages in a C-Suite relevant way (even when not personally delivering messaging)
  • Deliver content with clarity, confidence and enthusiasm - effectively presenting insights and advocating a point of view
  • Establish trust with clients through reliable delivery of commitments within timelines and standards of excellence.
  • Understand multiple problem-solving tools and approaches and when to use each for best outcomes
  • Demonstrate commitment to developing our people and leading by example
  • Develop an opportunistic and entrepreneurial spirit, raising key opportunities to leadership and supporting pursuits
  • Manage and guide teams of 10+ clients and consultants with optimism through ambiguity, challenges, and changes in direction
  • Ability to meet travel requirements as needed, up to 100%


Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of IT experience supporting and/or leading merger integration or divestitures within a consulting firm or corporation
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in technology strategy / advisory roles
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the consulting industry or equivalent in an internal consulting role
  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, framing, designing and executing solutions for challenging business situations
