Job Description:
Managers lead multifaceted projects that demand robust analytical abilities, a creative approach to problem-solving and strong interpersonal skills. Projects range from fast-paced, three-week business or technology assessments to 18-month business process transformation and technology solution implementations for the world’s leading retailers and global brands.

This mix of projects offers a dynamic and highly challenging opportunity to experience our service offerings and to quickly develop their expertise through early exposure to senior firm leadership and industry executives. 

Examples of our work include: 
  • Designing a new store operating model for a major, discounted apparel brand
  • Optimizing labor productivity for a major home improvement retailer to drive process standardization, labor productivity and increase focus on customer engagement
  • Creation a flexible retail operating model that introduces new store formats to increase market penetration and meet consumer demand
  • Developing a new operating model for a retailers flagship store
  • Diagnosing the core issues plaguing a cosmetics company and recommending product development enhancements across the global network to improve profitability
  • Developing a holistic store operating model for the new store format of a leading retailer 
  • Improving the efficiency of a leading grocer’s supply chain network, from distribution centers to stores
  • Leading a global supply chain or domestic network strategy for a domestic department store retailer or a major global brand    
  • Designing large, complex, fully automated distribution facilities 
  • Defining the omnichannel inventory sharing processes for a multichannel retailer
  • Conducting detailed analysis to optimize product flow and inventory placement for a multichannel global brand

Managers are responsible for:
  • Managing teams in the delivery of client engagements
  • Contributing to the development of various service offerings
  • Contributing to practice thought leadership, body of knowledge and service development
  • Participating in the development and cultivation of client relationships
  • Supporting business development and sales teams for both follow-on and new sales efforts
  • Coaching and developing practice staff
  • Representing the firm in industry forums (e.g., writing articles, speaking at conferences)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in one or more of the following:
    • Leading projects to optimize and improve labor productivity within the store
    • Leading projects to define new, omni-channel capabilities and/or new ways of operating the store
    • Leading projects which develop new store formats (e.g,. pop-ups) and operating principles 
    • Leading supply chain or network strategy projects
  • Minimum of 2 years of consulting experience in the consulting industry or equivalent in an internal consulting role
  • Bachelor's degree
Professional Skill Requirements
  • MBA or equivalent degree preferred
  • Experience in retail or consumer products is a plus
  • Keen problem-solving skills, including the ability to break down processes into logical components and construct clear reasoning and analyses
  • Strong analytical skills and a capacity to work with large data sets, assess trends and develop logical conclusions 
  • Exceptional drive, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to immediately contribute in a team environment
  • Energy and passion for serving clients, a desire for continual learning as well as personal resilience
  • Relevant analytics experience and exceptional skills with conceptual problem-solving and statistics, e.g., statistical modeling, decision analytics, forecasting and profiling.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Strong team building skills and appreciation of diverse perspectives 
  • Exceptional drive, energy and passion for continual learning, personal resilience and serving clients
