Business Process Services professionals work on projects across a range of business processes, business applications and information technology. They may provide technology services, such as application management, infrastructure management and systems integration, or they may deliver business process outsourcing services, including finance and accounting, procurement, supply chain and human resources. Depending on the role, Operations professionals may be based at a client’s office, a home office, or in one of Accenture’s 50 delivery centers around the world.
 
The Position:
 
Accenture is seeking an Operations Solution Architect Senior Manager to join the Solution Architect (SA) team. This position is a critical client-facing role that interprets and translates client requirements into a meaningful business case supported solution that can be configured from a standard set of offerings.  The Solution Architecture Senior Manager operates as a single point of contact or as part of a team (on large deals with multiple SAs) accountable to the SA SPOC from Stage 1 to deal closure and the transition to the delivery organization(s).
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Manage all Operating Groups, senior client buyer, and functional owner relationships for the designated solution
  • Drive the necessary sign-off of the solution with proper input from the Operating Groups on client business objectives, industry, risk assessment, budget and preferences
  • Manage the sales team, Subject Matter Experts required during the sales process and the communication/ collaboration with the delivery organization(s)
  • Direct and coordinate with Legal & Commercial and Corporate Transaction Services (CTS) in areas specific to the solution to ensure use of standards
  • Collaborate with the Operating Groups to provide input to Terms and Conditions and in some cases accountable for specific contractual terms and conditions
  • Identify leadership contacts for service transition and operations and ensure appropriate solution plan transition for closed deals
  • Interface with the delivery organization/s to ensure effective transition, shape services, collaborate on clear solution assumptions, determine appropriate service delivery locations and related cost to deliver
  • Orchestrate the action points coming out of the opportunity Quality Assurance process
  • Understand and translate buyer requirements into an exciting innovating solution encompassing th deal approach, solution plan, proposal and cost estimate leveraging standard process methods, deliverables and the right collection of offerings
  • Understand and be able to apply intelligent operations components like automation, analytics, artificial intelligence and data to push our clients to upper quartile performance
  • Preparing the BD spend estimate, schedule, work plan, resource/sourcing plan
  • Understand and clearly define the input required to create cost estimates; Preparing the cost model estimates working with delivery organization(s), Solution Management (if applicable) and CTS to deliver the defined scope of services
  • Collaborating as a key member of the sales team to represent the solution offering to the client buyer and other internal Accenture groups
  • Aligning final solution architecture (including statement of work, schedules and other contractual documents) with final terms and conditions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a consulting or professional services firm
  • Minimum of 4 years in Supply Chain As-A-Service
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development, sales strategy, and/or proposal development roles
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with outsourcing, Solution Planning/Deal Shaping

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience with data interpretation
  • Minimum of 7 years of advanced expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Minimum 4 years of ERP experience

  • Strategies, Offerings, and Solutions
    • Good understanding of offering strategy, the standard solution components, the likely adaptations of the solution, as well as knowledge of recent deals/solutions and changes that were made to the standard
    • Good understanding on one or more Supply Chain functions – “Integrated Business Planning”, “Transportation Planning”, “Material Management”, “Order Management”, “Product Data Management” and/or “After Sales Service / Warranty Management”
    • Local market knowledge (i.e. “what will work” in a particular geography)
    • Industry acumen (if/how does a solution need to be adapted to address specific industry processes/needs?)
    • Ability to clearly articulate and "sell" the solution…being able to explain the solution in simple terms…being able to "draw" the solution on a white board in a few minutes in such a way that the audience understands how it works and what the key variables are that will impact the solution cost

 

  • Business & Commercial Acumen
    • Commercial acumen – understands the financials and whether a deal can be delivered profitably
    • Understanding of the cost modeling and strives for “right the first time” to minimize revisions
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Delivery Expertise – understands what we can deliver, so it can be shaped appropriately
    • Detail Oriented – needs to adjust depth of solutions depending upon the audience and the need
    • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

 

  • Relationship Management
    • Focused on buyer-value expectations (good listening skills and ability to make client comfortable with solution)
    • Able to manage the Client Service Group relationship- internal stakeholder management:  makes things happen seamlessly…a top-quality architect makes sign-offs/reviews a natural act so that the deal is effectively reviewed as it is built vs. leaving these sign-offs to the last minute resulting in everyone feeling pressured
    • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment

Travel:

  • This position requires travel of approximately 25%, as needed
