Job responsibilities of the Sr Splunk Engineer include:

  • Assist client with Splunk data manipulation, reporting and searching.
  • Perform installation, configuration management, capacity planning, license management, data integration, data transformation, field extraction, event parsing, data preview, and application management of Splunk.
  • Develop, implement and document configuration standards, policies, and procedures for operating, managing and ensuring the security of the Splunk infrastructure.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management process related to Splunk.

Qualifications

Basic  Qualifications:
  • This position requires US Citizenship due to our contractual obligation.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 7 years of IT experience.
  • 5 years of Splunk engineering experience.
  • Must be a Splunk Certified Architect.
  • Direct experience designing, building, and maintaining large scale Splunk solutions.
  • Experience with Splunk scalability, capacity planning, distributed setup, search head clustering, and indexer Clustering.
  • Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES).
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux platforms is required and additional hands on experience with appliances is a plus.
  • A solid foundation understanding of networking principals, security best practices and systems administration is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Splunk premium apps such as Enterprise Security, IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), and VMware.
  • Experience with storage technologies, platform administration on Linux and Windows and experience with many of today's security tool sets (IPS/IDS, AV, Firewalls, Switches, etc).
  • Additional security certification such as: CISSP, SANS GIAC, Security+, Network+, Linux+, MCSE, RHCE, CCNA-Security, etc.
  • Experience w/ Linux systems administration.
  • Experience w/ Python programming
An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
