The Dept. of Homeland Security Sales Lead is responsible for building and leading a dynamic sales team focused on capturing large competitive deals, smaller strategic wedge opportunities, and on-contract growth, in collaboration with account leadership and delivery program leads. This includes maintaining overall responsibility for the client pipeline; forecasting and communicating resource and support needs, including maintaining BD and B&P budgets; engaging SME support and fostering collaboration across accounts and Accenture capability leads; serving as a coach and reviewer for artifacts developed in support of active, qualified deals, including RFI/RFP responses and white papers/thought leadership; developing, maintaining, and growing client and industry relationships; participating in client sales meetings and associated preparation and solutioning. Selected candidate will quickly develop a comprehensive understanding of the client and component agencies' IT and business initiatives and demonstrate expertise in AFS offerings and services, financial drivers and imperatives, and match those to client buying patterns and needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in the federal marketplace, across sales, solutioning and/or delivering information technology, consulting, or IT product implementation services
  • 5+ years experience in sales or business development in the Federal Government market
  • 5+ years experience in one or more of the following: Consulting Services, Business Process Outsourcing, or Information Technology solutions, services, and markets including knowledge of competitive offerings
  • 3+ years project management experience
  • High energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness and ability to work well under pressure
  • Experience managing sales pipeline, forecasting, and closing deals
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Proven record as a team player
  • Unquestionable integrity, credibility and character
  • Experience managing teams in a sales or delivery capacity
  • An ability to manage constantly shifting priorities across multiple client accounts
  • An ability to delegate assignments and measure progress according to deadlines and budgetary constraints
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to interface and negotiate with senior executives
  • Minimum education – Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in client environment or across similar Federal agency environments, in sales or delivery capacity

 

 

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
