About Accenture Research
Accenture Research provides value-adding data, analysis and insights to Accenture and its clients, partnering with senior executives in key industries, geographies and businesses. In doing so, the team focuses on the following key objectives:
Identifying new business opportunities: Research combines a deep understanding of Accenture’s clients’ industries with leading-edge research techniques to discover the most pressing issues facing organizations today. Our team develops thought-provoking research -- supported by proprietary data and partnerships with leading organizations that guides our innovation and allows us to transform theories and fresh ideas into real-world solutions for our clients. Researchers have the opportunity to partner on client projects to provide research and industry expertise. With the emergence of Accenture’s 10 Innovation Hubs scattered throughout North America, those filling the new Researchers in Residence role will have the exciting opportunity to partner with not only client teams but also members of the firm’s Innovation Architecture at these locations.
Developing thought leadership: Accenture requires original, cutting-edge thought leadership to use with clients, the media and in world-class conferences. Accenture Research creates hundreds of external points of view each year. Many of our projects are published and quoted in the press. Others form the basis for our issue-driven discussions with clients. In all cases the researchers will be expected to contribute research, writing and thought leadership to these projects.
Leading with Innovation: Our team increasingly uses innovative business research techniques such as economic value modeling, analytics, crowd sourcing, expert networks, surveys, data visualization, and open research with Tier 1 academic and business partners.
Successful research requires people who not only possess deep research skills but who also have a client-focused mentality and an outgoing and confident personal style. Successful researchers build deep relationships with their peers and senior executives in the practice and Innovation Architecture and work as a team, responding to requests and proposing (and selling) research projects.
Our global team has 300 researchers located in 20 countries, working collaboratively as a virtual team of subject matter experts. Many specialize in an Industry (such as Communications, Media and Technology; Financial Services; Health and Public Services; Products or Resources) or a Business (such as Digital, Operations or Strategy); others bring a particular research skill (such as survey research, financial analysis or data science) and come combine two or more areas of expertise. And now with the introduction of this new role of Researcher in Residence to North America, some researchers will have the front-line opportunity to partner continually with client teams and members of the Innovation Hubs co-located at each of our team’s four major locations in North America. These Accenture Innovation Centers (or Hubs) are located strategically worldwide, building and scaling solutions across technologies and industries.
About the Researcher in Residence Role:

Accenture Research and the leadership of the North America Innovation Network are working together to forge a partnership where research is embedded into projects and client experiences at leading Innovation Hubs located throughout the region, including Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Toronto. Therefore, we are creating a new role – Researcher in Residence – to meet the anticipated research needs at each of these client destinations. We are seeking research professionals who can be fully dedicated to the team located at each of these respective locations to lead our collaborative research contribution and build upon the strong start we have already made.
