Job Description
The Global Asset Protection (GAP) Strategic Programs and Operations Associate Director (AD) is a critical member of GAP’s leadership team with expertise in all security disciplines under his/her supervision.  The incumbent will be responsible for identification of global incidents that impact Accenture and the coordination of notification messages to employees, threat identification and analysis, strategic oversight of the security vendor program, events and executive protection, security training, and budget development.  In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for developing policy and coordinating with Accenture key stakeholders in the areas of investigations, behavioral threat assessment, and travel safety.  The incumbent also will be the primary Point of Contact for security interaction with Accenture Federal Services and the Cyber Incident Response Team.  Incumbent may perform specific functions personally, delegate to others within his/her team, or retain professional consultants to carry out specific assignments, yet remains accountable for outcomes.
The AD reports directly to the Chief Security Officer and is expected to develop a close collaborative relationship with leadership from Accenture’s Businesses and Corporate Functions, including IT, Cyber Security, Legal, Travel, Workplace, and HR leaders as well as with domestic and foreign law enforcement and diplomatic and intelligence services.
The incumbent will assist in providing strategic security leadership in a complicated and matrixed corporate environment that values collaboration, independent thinking, proactive problem-solving, integrity, collegiality, efficiency, and continuous organizational transformation.

Threat Intelligence, Event Monitoring, and Mass Notification
  • Oversees information gathering to identify and assess any potential threats against the organization.  This includes not only overarching global issues, such as terrorism, crime, and civil unrest, but also specific threats, such as social media posts pertaining to Accenture leadership.
  • Manages the incident notification process and security assessment vendors to ensure the timely receipt of information and analysis on global events which could impact any of Accenture’s facilities, people, or operations worldwide. 
  • Oversees the dissemination of such information to Accenture leadership and coordinates any messaging to employees with both speed and sensitivity.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships globally with national law enforcement and other related government/intelligence agencies in coordination with GAP Regional Protective Services (RPS) colleagues.
  • Maintains an awareness of proposed, pending, and enacted international legislation that impacts the security community and makes proactive recommendations to Accenture Leadership as appropriate.
Executive Protection and Global Events
  • Maintains continuously-updated risk profiles for the company and key executives and shares critical information as warranted with recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Oversees an executive protection program consistent with the level of threat and risks to senior leaders.
  • Oversees security awareness training, country risk profiles, residential security, movement security, office security, and travel security for corporate leadership internationally.
  • Oversees the provision of special security arrangements for a variety of events which involve large concentrations of senior executives, including annual shareholders meetings, off-site Executive Committee meetings, off-site Board of Directors’ meetings, etc.
Corporate Security Policies
  • Works with the Legal Corporate Investigations, Employee Relations, and Cyber Security teams to develop policy regarding GAP’s involvement in investigations.
  • Working with Human Resources, Employee Relations, RPS colleagues, and other key stakeholders, is responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining a consistent Behavioral Threat Assessment process and response globally. 
  • Working with Travel, is responsible for managing the security programs and security vendors that support the safety of all Accenture employees while traveling, both domestically and internationally.  Develops appropriate travel security training programs.
  • Responsible for managing security personnel, including hiring, directing, evaluating, training, and mentoring of GAP Strategic Programs and Operations team members.
  • Advises the CSO in the establishment and management of GAP’s annual budget. 
  • Ensures the adherence to corporate policies, specifically in the areas of privacy and records retention.
  • Develops and maintains a dashboard covering GAP program operations, global security incidents, compliance, and other metrics specific to GAP, continually drawing inferences and recommendations as a result.
  • Serves as the primary Point of Contact with Accenture Federal Services and as the GAP representative to the Cyber Incident Response Team.


Role Requirements:


Incumbent must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance and routinely will be expected to work after-hours and weekends as incidents arise. Travel, both domestic and international, is required and could exceed 25%.

Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant security experience with at least 5 of those years in a management position; or the equivalent in a Federal Law Enforcement or Intelligence leadership role. 
  • A college degree from an accredited college or university is required. 
Preferred Skills:
  • Prior private sector security experience
  • International experience
  • Fluency in other languages
  • An advanced degree
  • An active security clearance
Professional Skill Requirements:
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
Other Requirements:
The Associate Director should be motivated to work in a meritocratic, collaborative culture in which work ethic, humility, collaboration, and a willingness to do whatever it takes are all critical to be successful in this role.  He/she also should be nimble, highly responsive, able to pivot quickly between projects and priorities and to meet time sensitive deadlines.  Demonstration of uncompromised ethics, good judgment, and integrity are mandatory.
