Role Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Law Enforcement Operations/Legal Support Specialist to support our social media client in Santa Monica! As a member of the Law Enforcement Operations team, you will review, index, and process all levels of legal requests from domestic and international law enforcement, as well as drive successful projects and tooling initiatives. Working from our Los Angeles headquarters, you’ll collaborate with the Legal, Customer Operations, and Engineering teams to assist law enforcement.

 

The role includes some or all of the following key responsibilities:


  • Manage the day-to-day operations of your team
  • Cascade communications from the client
  • Train support agents on new processes, tools and policies
  • Accurately review, index, and process various types of legal requests from domestic and international law enforcement
  • Address sensitive content, including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other objectionable material
  • Enhance our operational workflows via process improvements
  • Collaborate with internal and outside counsel on escalations as appropriate
  • Participate in trial appearances as a Records Custodian

 

Location

This is not a virtual/remote role; the work is based in Santa Monica, CA.  This role requires a distinct level of professionalism.  Relocation assistance is not provided. 

 

Hours / Shifts

Current work hours are between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM PST, Monday – Sunday.  The role requires incumbents to work 5 out of 7 days a week on an 8½-hour shift with 8 paid hours, and two consecutive days off per week, including one weekend day.  Depending on team supported, location, and business needs, hours, shifts, and rotation frequency are subject to change.  Team Leads will try to accommodate individual schedules, but guarantees cannot be made. Given the nature of our business being 24/7, 365 days a year,  incumbents will need to bring a degree of flexibility, and remain open to working different hours, shifts/rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends. 


Shift Premiums

There is a 10% hourly rate premium for hours worked between 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM PST and weekends. 


Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g. criminal law, paralegal studies, pre-law, criminal justice)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a team lead
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong research, organization and problem-solving skills
  • Highly attentive to detail, with proven ability to accurately analyze lengthy legal documents
  • Experience working directly with law enforcement in a professional manner and reviewing sensitive content
  • Ability to prioritize tasks with minimal oversight
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • A passion for social media and online safety!
