Job Description

We seek out highly collaborative individuals who put consumers at the center of every problem they try to solve. Foremost, you should possess an ability to see the bigger picture, translating what you see and observe into opportunities that excite and engage clients, designers, and technologies.


As a Boston-based Altitude Innovation and Design Strategy Principal, you will develop innovation strategies based on human-centered insights, envision what the solution could look like, turn this into a compelling story for clients and consumers.  You will also collaborate with engineers and product designers to carry out ideas.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience developing products or services in design, marketing, or consulting
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience doing hands on qualitative research, analysis, and synthesis (ethnographic research)
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Great storyteller can distill learnings down to their essence and provide meaning to client
  • Are passionate about crafting strategies and directions for future products and services
  • Inspire and drive the development of design solutions with your team
  • Are adept at discerning client business challenges and able to lead programs to tackle them
  • Are able to lead large scale client project and a team of junior strategists from kickoff to execution.
  • Are curious, observant, and insightful
  • Are equally comfortable understanding numbers and understanding design
  • Enjoy challenging assumptions, working through tough problems, and resolving ambiguity
  • Are flexible enough to be solution agnostic while defining and tackling undefined problems
  • Enjoy working closely in a team with people who possess diverse skills and working styles
  • Can share a portfolio of work samples
Professional Skill Requirements
  • Ability to work from our Altitude Studio in Somerville, MA, with up to 25% travel
  • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
