Operations professionals work on projects across a range of business processes, business applications and information technology. They may provide technology services, such as application management, infrastructure management and systems integration, or they may deliver business process outsourcing services, including finance and accounting, procurement and human resources. Depending on the role, Outsourcing professionals may be based at a client’s office or in one of Accenture’s 50 delivery centers around the world.
 
The Technical Support Engineer - WebSphere resource will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and enhancements of all enterprise IBM WebSphere components.  The resource will be part of a managed services team in the client’s Technology Operations Center performing Level 2 triage and troubleshooting activities, in addition to executing on approved requests and changes. Responsibilities include:
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support and troubleshoot IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) JVMs
  • Install, configure, tune, and support WebSphere and other middleware components
  • Setup load balancing, clustering, and failover
  • Assist application and testing teams
  • Work with Vendor Support to assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues (open service requests and follow up with vendor support)
  • Develop support documentation and train team members
  • Ability to analyze Performance and capacity reports and recommend tuning opportunities
  • On call to support operations in case of issues
  • Create and maintain system documentation
  • Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations

Basic Qualifications

  •  Minimum of 1 year experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors' Degree
  • Experience in IT operations and service management
