Outsourcing professionals work on projects across a range of business processes, business applications and information technology. The Operations Account Specialist, Energy is responsible for learning all client management activities, such as maintaining current business relationships, managing the client renewal process, ensuring delivery matches contract scope, managing business development, account development, customer satisfaction, client relationships, managing internal Accenture communication (e.g. finance, Client Account Leadership) and overall account strategies. The goal of the Operations Account Specialist is learn how to maintain the overall managed-services relationship and drive enhanced customer engagements via managing delivery requirements and upselling. Learning how to managing executive relationships and negotiating high risk situations will be an everyday challenge in this position.
As an Operations Account Specialist, you will be supported by the Client Executive manager as you propose, manage and execute on customer contracts in order to achieve business goals. To achieve these goals successfully, you will make decisions regarding the development and maintenance of client and partner relationships, work closely with the sales, delivery and internal Accenture account teams in order to create and deliver a successful energy services engagement and leverage service offerings to address customer business needs. In order to understand the client business objectives and deliver services engagements, you will interface intimately with the client at all levels of the organization. In addition, you will actively participate in and lead account strategy and planning sessions with Accenture teams, which will include individuals from legal, sales and delivery. You will deliver weekly updates and customer feedback on trends, opportunities and challenges in order to benchmark and maintain delivery goals of your client portfolio. You will be expected to maintain an accurate accounting of your pipeline and will be accountable for managing your business on a quarterly basis. Most Operations Account Specialists are responsible for 6-10 client relationships.
An Operations Account Specialist must demonstrate capability and expertise in business development and business management skills. They should demonstrate capability in conflict and negotiation management. Growing experience in the energy industry is essential to success. This individual must be able to understand and articulate Accenture’s Active Energy Management program and vision to a variety of audiences. Knowledge of energy supply (regulated and deregulated), energy data management, and demand side solutions is critical to success.
With support of Client Executive Manager, begin to develop skills to complete the following activities:
• Transition client from sales to delivery
• Set communication cadence & manage the communication flow with client
• Ensure delivery team has prioritized the correct work streams
• Monitor & measure delivery of business results, and achievement of the program
• Address new service opportunities with the client
• Coordinate approvals for contingency plans and scope changes
• Manage the contract renewal process
• Communicate the program performance to client stakeholder
• Provide account margin oversight
• Create margin improvement plans where needed
• Follow-up on AP issues directly with client & Accenture finance
• Internal communication with CAL’s, CFM, financial tools
• Develop ravings fans/trusted advisors leading to referable relationships
