Technology professionals implement and lead highly complex technology projects. Advanced Technology & Architecture professionals are responsible for delivering technology innovation and providing the backbone of our systems integration business.  In this role, you will have a primary skill focus on translating a business need into a robust and integrated technology solution. 

DevOps Engineer Associate Manager will provide guidance and help design, configure, implement, maintain and monitor systems that in turn support development continuous delivery systems for major government agencies. The Engineer will interact with the client, AFS teams, and supporting contractors in a dynamic environment, defining and delivering DevOps capabilities, and will have ample opportunity to learn new capabilities and have an immediate impact.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop maintain, and troubleshoot automated change management, build/deployment, code quality assurance, and unit/functional/integration test systems
  • Work to continuously improve speed, efficiency and scalability of the build and test systems
  • Work across project teams to ensure continuous operation of build and test systems
  • Automate wherever feasible
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships and communication channels with development, test, and operations teams
  • Actively seek opportunities to implement improvements to internal team processes
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the agency’s system development life cycle


Basic Qualifications: 
  • 3 years of Information Technology experience
  • 1 year of Object Oriented or Procedural Programming
  • 1 year of Scripting (Python, Perl, Unix/Linux Shell, Javascript, and/or PowerShell)
  • 1 year of hands on experience with complex architectures with architecture tools in one or more of the following i.e. Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Zookeeper, Sonar, Gerrit, Splunk, Selenium, Zenoss, New Relic, AppDynamics, Nagios, Nexus, Artifactory
  • 1 year of hands on experience with either virtualization technologies (VMWare, HyperV) and/or container technologies (Docker, Mesos) and/or cloud technologies (OpenStack, AWS, Azure)
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Familiarity with:
    • JEE application development and JEE application servers (e.g. JBoss)
    • build-time dependency management (e.g. Maven, Ivy)
    • unit testing and code-coverage tools (e.g. Sonar)
    • functional or performance test automation techniques and tools
    • database change automation tools (e.g. Liquibase, Flyway)
    • release workflow automation (e.g. UrbanCode, Release Automation)
    • design patterns using OS container virtualization (e.g. Docker, Jails)  and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, OpenShift)
    • performance and log analytics platforms (e.g. New Relic, Zenoss, Nagios, Splunk, ELK)

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
