Role Overview
We are seeing a an Automation/Quality Engineer to work in a fast-paced agile environment.  The incumbent work on a range of services powering web applications for a large financial institution. In addition s/he will work with a team of back-end, front-end and DevOps engineers to design, create, test/automate these services (UI/Middleware).
The work is based at the client premises and requires a distinct level of professionalism.  
Day-to-day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Help develop end to end automation framework though Java/Selenium/Cucumber/Gerkin and CA LISA (for middleware)
  • Create automated UI and middleware tests for RESTful Web Services
  • Be involved in team architectural discussions
  • Would be responsible for defining test scenario/scope, understanding functional/business requirements and test execution/reporting
  • Experience in tools like JIRA, gitHub, SVN etc
  • Work in an iterative/agile development environment
  • Work directly with others (developers and internal stakeholders) to develop a solid understanding of the business application and requirements for which the application is being designed
  • Assist others with test automation and help implement continuous integration
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Test Automation or application development (using Java), including the following: test automation framework/test scenarios; and testing/automating RESTful web services; and
  • Broad understanding of unit and integration testing as part of a full software development life cycle
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software for office productivity, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint  
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in CA LISA
  • Understanding of DevOps and Continuous Integration
  • Experience working or implementing DevOps
  • AWS or other cloud experience
  • Experience with open source tools such s: JUnit, Maven, Ant, Continuous Integration Tools (Hudson, Jenkins), etc
