The Junior Web Developer will participate in the design, development, implementation, testing, and documentation of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems, services, and multi-threaded servers using data structures and Object Oriented or Functional programming. Translate functional requirements into robust, scalable, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture. Participate in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance. Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation. Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.

The Junior Web Developer is responsible for analysis, design, and configuration of all custom and off-the-shelf Enterprise Management products to support the monitoring, metrics, and analytics associated with IT service health, service performance, and service level monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implementation of fully interactive dashboards that provide big data analytics used to measure the health and performance of the IT enterprise, to include daily maintenance and future upgrades.
  • Creation/maintenance of agile development processes and cloud DevOps environment.
  • Migration of existing applications and tools to the cloud.
  • Design and implementation of RESTful APIs used by external service providers to integrate their services into the enterprise architecture.


Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Business or other technical major, OR at least 4 years of recent experience in software engineering.
  • 1 year experience in software development
  • Good oral and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands on recent use and knowledge of specific products and related technologies: MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS Visio
  • Software development skills with a high level understanding of application architecture and familiarity with Python, Javascript, Java, .NET, ASP, SQL and/or other development frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with the MEAN Stack (MongoDB, ExpressJS, AngularJS, NodeJS)
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL, Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle database data models and queries
  • Experience with agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and processes such as Jenkins, Git, Redmine, and Apache Maven
  • Documentation of technical process/procedures applicable to skill set
  • Participate in analyzing unique issues, systems  or problems having large or total organizational impact
  • Proactively updating the status of a particular issue/problem to appropriate stake holders
  • Basic understanding of AWS Cloud Services
  • Basic understanding of SAN/NAS/DAS technologies
  • Basic understanding of Server Hardware (Dell, Sun)
  • Basic understanding of Server operating systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris)

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
