Your Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Management Consultants to support the build-out of a new Innovation Center for Finance & Risk (ICFR).  The ICFR will offer industry-leading thought leadership, best practices, training, support, and data-driven solutions to address the prevailing risk issues in the banking, insurance and capital markets domains.   Our ICFR provides a unique environment where we bring together a combination of platform and data engineering capabilities along with our risk analytics and data management capabilities to enable innovative solutions to be delivered in an agile delivery environment.  Our team members all provide some combination of these skills and the ideal candidates show a strong desire to develop skills across the board.

A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:  

 

  • Work with System and Data Owners to identify business data lineage across integration layers
  • Document business data, data lineage and data quality information and integrate into final deliverables
  • Participate on workshops with key stakeholders from our clients to document data flows and processes
  • Bring domain and data knowledge to identify gaps and opportunities for driving efficiencies
  • Manage analysis data quality reporting and recommendations
  • Coordinate data lineage/mapping efforts with offshore teams and communicate progress to project managers
  • Provide support to management in business development initiatives, including developing client proposals and building strong relationships with Accenture clients
  • Support development of the Risk Analytics practice by driving initiatives around market research, capability development, thought capital, knowledge management, etc.
  • Contribute to development of Accenture Points-of-View on a variety of Risk Analytics topics
  • Maintain an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across Data Management and broader financial services marketplace

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of prior Management Consulting experience focused on the Financial Services industry required
  • Prior experience should include:
  • Dealing with large data sets, change initiatives, and capturing current state/target state design in functional and/or technical capacity
  • Extracting, aggregating and structuring large volumes of data in the context of analytics 
  • Knowledge of risk data-related regulatory requirements and trends, such as Basel, BCBS239 lineage, CCAR data lineage.
  • Candidate should be able to easily understand of Data Stewards structures and roles
  • Candidate must have a clear understanding and some experience of tools currently utilized to perform data management activities (Informatica, Open IDC, ab-initio, Collibra, etc). 
  • Candidate must exhibit understanding of end user use of data (marketing, risk management, operational reporting). 

    • Should display a clear understanding of how reports are generated, documented and used by the business. 
    • Should be able to describe the process of report generation from requirements to design. 
  • Must be able to describe Agile approach to analytics and who is usually involved in a POD (business user, data analyst, ETL developer. BI reporting developer). 
  • Candidate should display clear understanding of meta-data what it is how it is used and can explain the end to end process of data utilization. 
  • Experience and basic understanding of database design is required (data modeling, what is a 3rd normal data model, what is normalization). 
  • Familiarity with the typical analytics tool sets is required (Tableau, Qlick View, Cognos).  An understanding of design thinking is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Risk Management concepts (Credit, Market, Liquidity)
  • Strong understanding of front, middle and back office operations
  • Familiarity with Risk Technology and Master Data Management Vendor
  • Strong understanding of Statistics
  • Solid project management experience including: defining scope, setting project timelines and milestone, driving deliverables, identifying risks, managing issues, project economics and client relationship management)
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate with clients, lead key requirement workshops, document and understand requirements
  • Strong competence in developing presentations required (MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel))
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline such as: Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or other quantitative discipline.  An Advanced Degree in one or more of these disciplines is highly desirable

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale risk and/or finance infrastructure transformations
  • Prior experience in data lineage, data mapping, data engineering and/or data quality engagements is highly desirable
  • Prior experience in Data Governance engagements and knowledge of third-party data management tools a plus

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment and structured decision-making
