Job Description

A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:
Adapts existing methods and procedures to create possible alternative solutions to moderately complex problems.
Understands the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals.
Uses considerable judgment to determine solution and seeks guidance on complex problems.
Primary upward interaction is with direct supervisor. May interact with peers and/or management levels at a client and/or within Accenture.
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments with guidance.
Decisions often impact the team in which they reside.
Manages small teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Accenture.

Manage and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement tax transformation and creative business solutions for large companies; including managing teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design and data flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures. Work with Accenture executives to sell projects, design and deliver tax transformation solutions to clients and build trusted advisor relationship with clients. Identify new opportunities for service offerings, work to advance the Accenture Capability Network Tax initiatives. Participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process. Lead and supervise teams of managers, consultants and associates. Develop and motivate engagement team with leadership, career guidance and counseling. Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities. Provide input and guidance into the staffing process. Develop, manage and/or support external vendor relationships with key business partners.

Basic Qualifications:

 

•,A minimum of five years of experience with any one or more of the following: SAP, Oracle , PeopleSoft, Great Plains and/or similar ERP applications, specifically with the Tax, AP/Purchase Order, AR/Sales Order and/or G/L modules

•,A minimum of five years of experience in implementing major indirect tax transformation solutions in any one or more of the following: OneSource, Vertex, Suretax, Sovos (aka Taxware), Avalara and similar for North American and/or global organizations

•,A minimum of three full lifecycle implementations

•,Bachelor’s Degree

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

•,Understanding of key indirect tax processes and data drivers while possessing a broad industry background including retail, financial services, manufacturing and/ or telecommunications

•,Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgment

•,Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills using MS Visio and MS PowerPoint •,Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment

•,Experience working directly with clients •,Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals

•,Ability to travel up to 100% (Mon-Thurs)*
