Chris Weseloh
Manager Chicago
2015

"It was time to settle down for a while. I took a role in my hometown of Chicago leading the mobility team at an insurance company. The project helped me to grow my skills managing large offshore teams and interfacing with senior client management."

2012

"I returned again for third project with the Accenture Development Partnerships group. This time I was working in Nairobi leading an mLearning project to train community health workers in rural Africa. This was a great opportunity to apply for-profit strategy techniques in a non-profit environment."

2011

"I returned for another project with the Accenture Development Partnerships group. This time I was working in Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia to perform an assessment for GIS (mapping) technology. Having the opportunity to work in very remote areas of Ethiopia was life changing."

2010

"After nearly a decade working with corporate and government clients, I decided to apply my consulting experience with the international development sector through Accenture Development Partnerships. I worked in Haiti for several months after the earthquake to setup a system for managing shelter construction and using digital pens to improve orphanage evaluations."

2009

"I worked with an insurance company to setup a pilot to automatically track customer satisfaction based on social media posts. This gave me a good introduction to business strategy and client management."

2008

"I led a team to pilot collaboration technology for operators in the control center that manages the electric grid for most of the Northeastern United States. A key component was a custom interactive table-like display to allow operators to access and annotate maps and schematics."

2005

"I designed and developed a radioactive materials tracking system for a major energy services provider. My first overseas business trip to Brazil gave me experience working in other countries – and using a Geiger Counter!"

2004

"I led the architecture and development for a railcar tracking system for a major chemicals client. GPS and other sensor data was collected and integrated with RFID and SAP data. This project gave me my first exposure to ERP systems and agile development techniques."

2003

"I spent much of February, 2003 testing an RFID system for a major manufacturer of construction and mining equipment from a shipping container in their parking lot. And loved it! The system collected telemetry data from nearby heavy machinery and sent the data home via satellite."

2002

"I led the development of a personnel management system for an incoming state governor. I learned key web development skills and how to lead a small team."

2001

"I started my career fresh out of college with the Accenture Technology Labs. I had the opportunity work (ok – play) with very futuristic technologies such as a wearable computer similar to Google Glass and an in-car computer with speech recognition similar to Siri."
