I once had a team member, an incredibly intelligent guy, who said that he enjoyed "not always being the smartest guy in the room”. It wasn't arrogance, but rather the opposite—it was about understanding and admitting that there are always people you can learn from.
Working with the best of the Salesforce best
I recently joined Accenture with nearly 20 years of CRM delivery experience—more than five of those years working with Salesforce technology. There are currently only 260 Salesforce Certified Technical Architects (CTAs) worldwide. And I’ve joined a team that boasts the most Salesforce-certified professionals of any partner.
I know that I am surrounded by the best and brightest in the industry at Accenture—people I know I can learn from. Even from short discussions with two other technical architects during my interview process, I felt my thinking was more connected and further-reaching than at previous employers.
The Accenture Salesforce team comes from different backgrounds, in terms of technology and previous roles, but also in terms of geography, education, background, language and culture. This leads to diverse viewpoints and opinions, creates a melting pot of ideas and inspires innovation.

During an interview with an Accenture managing director, I rather glibly said that I wanted people to recognize the names of my clients when I discussed work at dinner parties. It wasn’t the fact that the brands and logos would be recognizable; rather, it was for the scale of challenge that they would bring.
