Managing change is her expertise—at work and at home

Senior Manager Ricarda Ganjam is an expert on change management.

At work, she applies her expertise to clients in the utilities industry. “Utilities are facing tremendous technology disruption,” Ganjam says. “I’ve really enjoyed being a part of thinking through how they are going to manage the changes: What leadership is required? What management model will be needed? What training, communications and metrics do we need?”

At home, Ganjam applies her expertise to contend with challenges that are part of family life not only for her but also for many other employees. “I had a chance to test the Accenture support system when my husband was first deployed to Iraq, and I had a brand-new baby at home,” Ganjam says. “I talked with my team lead, thought about a modified work week, made it work, talked to the client, and got more support than I could have ever imagined.”

Her husband deployed two more times. Knowing Ganjam had support at work, they had two more children. More recently, her husband retired from the military.

Based in Washington, D.C., Ganjam has been at Accenture for 15 years.

Born in Montreal to immigrant parents, she came to the U.S. at age 4. After dreaming of being a journalist, she earned a Ph.D. at Texas A&M, where she studied technology and education.

Today, through Accenture’s Corporate Citizenship program, Ganjam follows her passion: She works with D.C. schools to use technology to help transform the classroom.
