When exploring career options as a student at University of Texas at Austin, I looked for three main things: diversity of project experiences, hands-on technical work and inspiring leadership. I found that at Accenture, as well as a career in the highly competitive field of SAP.
While I didn’t seek out SAP—or even know what that was coming out of college—I am thrilled with where this path has taken me. I get to help solve some of the biggest challenges facing the energy industry, while growing skills in a platform that can transform just about any industry worldwide.
If that sounds aspirational, it is. But it’s also my daily reality—below is a small taste. You can also experience a day in my life in the video below, which I originally shared on Accenture US's Instagram account.
Currently, I am the Management of Change (MOC) Lead for an Upstream Direct implementation of SAP S/4 HANA. That’s a lot of words and acronyms that boils down to this: I am responsible for the design, build, test and deployment of the MOC module for a global oil and gas company.

SAP is adapting and moving from a monolithic enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, to a cloud-hosted dynamic system. The way we deliver, design and scale SAP solutions is changing fast—and Accenture is leading the way as one of their leading partners. For example, we are continuously creating new applications on SAP’s Leonardo platform, which is not only adding value for our client, but they can be easily implemented.
Being involved on the Environmental, Healthy, and Safety (EHS) modules within SAP, I ensure that companies in high-risk industries, from chemicals to oil and gas, are working safe and are compliant. Visiting client job sites, I see the impact of our work on the operators who are in the system every day. From the engineers in the field, to the EHS directors making decisions, I see first-hand how the system we help design and the analytics we provide helps drive the health and safety agenda for these companies.
People. Passion. Payback.
One of my favorite things about working at Accenture is the people. Everyone says it for a reason, and it’s not just talk. In fact, a lot of my close friends are those I’ve met through Accenture. I can honestly say that work is so much more fun when you like who you’re working with.
It’s also gratifying to share my experience with those just starting on their career path. I am very involved in our University of Texas Recruiting Team (Hook ‘Em!), and I love going back to campus, meeting with students, and eventually new analysts, and watching them grow in the firm. I am passionate about meeting new people, and I love talking about our work. Accenture lets me do that on a daily basis.
