Electrifying! Interns Describe Student Leadership Conference

Electrifying. Empowering. Unforgettable.

Three words our summer interns use to describe the experience at Accenture’s Student Leadership Conference (SLC)—the annual three-day gathering where our summer analysts from around the world come together to discover, innovate and LEAD.

The SLC is a summer analyst favorite. It’s quite possibly the most fun you'll have as an intern.

Exclusively for rising seniors, it’s an opportunity to stretch personal leadership boundaries and explore Accenture's innovative culture. Fun, engaging and hands-on activities have you immersed in the NEW—new ways of working, new ways of thinking, new ways of leading. The skills you learn will help you establish a successful career at Accenture and beyond.

One word to describe your experience
Our summer analysts pick one word to describe their SLC experience and offer a glimpse at the innovative projects they are working on.

I’m creating a way to successfully incorporate gamification into our client’s change management program. This has been such an exciting and interesting project because I have real responsibility to work on a deliverable that will be presented to our client at the end of the summer. I am working on an end-to-end approach for how my team can implement challenges and competitions to achieve awareness, understanding and adoption of changes. I am learning so much about the type of work I will do as a consultant, and I love being able to take responsibility for a project.

The most exciting project I’ve been a part of is constructing and implementing an application programming interface (API) to be used on a client website. I’m working on the digital customer experience, helping build a graph to help their customers know how much electricity they use. The thought that it’s going to be displayed on their website is very exciting.

My experience as a Marketing Summer Analyst has been quite unique, as I’m working within Corporate Functions, so my ‘client’ is technically Accenture. Working alongside the Industry Analyst Relations team, I’m helping to prepare and increase Accenture’s standings as the industry leader in Industry X.0, Applied Intelligence, and Interactive. It’s been an awesome learning experience conducting comparative analyses of Accenture’s top competitors by analyzing Industry Analyst reports from leading global market research and advisory firms, all while learning more about the innovative, creative work that Accenture has delivered to its clients in a rapidly changing technological world.

As a student in IT and Business, it is very fulfilling to apply my prior knowledge this summer and function as a liaison between the business side and the IT side at the client site, and help to ensure that all requirements are met in the product that we’re building. I have the opportunity to see business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria move through our program, and it has been quite a learning experience to see this end-to-end process in action. I have been a part of a fantastic internal team this summer and I owe all of my growth to them. I would like to thank them for the high responsibility and autonomy they allowed me to exercise as a summer analyst!

The most exciting project I’ve been a part of is working on the Robotic Process Automation side of the Intelligent Automation team. It’s exciting because we’re able to see the processes from start to finish. When a company has an issue, we use automation to maximize efficiency, saving hours of time so workers can focus on more valuable contributions. It’s been amazing.

We’re implementing a product-content ecosystem at a leading global beverage manufacturer in the first market of 16. It’s really exciting because it’s very experimental! I’m creating client training material for the project, which is a pivotal part of the implementation. It’s been meaningful because I know I’m helping the client learn about this brand-new system.

My project requires a lot of data analysis, so using Tableau and Oracle and SQL has been interesting because those are databases that I’m not familiar with and haven’t had experience with. It’s a great opportunity to show how data can really transform a workforce.
