It’s an exciting time to work at the intersection of business and technology. We’re making things happen that I couldn’t have even imagined just 5-10 years ago.
Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, cloud-based applications and advanced analytics are unlocking new value for businesses. In fact, the intelligent enterprise and the uberization of business processes is closer than you think.
Unparalleled access to leading-edge technology
I work on Applied Intelligence projects at Accenture, which has the dynamic and speed of working similar to a startup. The exposure to innovative technologies and truly leading-edge capabilities from SAP, Google, AWS and Microsoft Azure is fascinating.
I engage with AI startups that specialize in applying advanced mathematical algorithms on our clients’ supply chain management (SCM) optimization challenges. Working at the intersection of SAP Leonardo and our Applied Intelligence offerings, including AI capabilities such as machine learning and advanced analytics, our solutions drive new insights and capabilities for our clients.
Living in Silicon Valley, I am surrounded by new trends and startup ideas (some game-changing, some short-lived) every day. It’s a constant reminder to always remain curious, and take advantage of the many capabilities to feed that curiosity in my role at Accenture.
We’re always learning new skills, understanding how we can apply AI technologies to drive new insights. Most importantly, we’re carefully, actively listening and communicating with our clients.
I apply my skills outside my role with Accenture, too. I am involved with two nonprofit organizations in the Bay Area. They value my insights into technology, analytics and applications. It’s rewarding to engage with my local community and expand my network and experiences.
Find your fit with SAP
To succeed with SAP, it’s important to have skills with new technologies, such as S/4HANA or Leonardo and cloud insights applications. We’re embracing the power of New IT and SAP to transform industries, including rotating finance capabilities to the New.
But remember: Great communication skills with your client and teams are just as important as technology expertise. You need both to be successful in consulting.
Looking for a career in the SAP space? There’s a vast ecosystem to meet your passion. Maybe it’s a business function, such as supply chain, or an SAP technology area. Get into it, show your passion—and success will follow.
