I hardly have a traditional corporate strategy background.
I spent the first two years of my career working in Sub-Saharan Africa, primarily in public health, at the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis. After working for many international organizations around the world, I spent six years with UNICEF in New York, leading the Business Development team for Public Private Partnership. At UNICEF, I focused on designing social investment strategy with Fortune 500 partners that maximized social and business impact.
I made a significant career transition.
Ten-plus years into my development career, I decided to transition to pure corporate strategy. I pursued an MBA at INSEAD, which allowed me to transition to Accenture Strategy out of a desire to focus on the future of business. It was a significant career transition, and I found Accenture a good fit for my diverse, global leadership experience.
Today, as an executive in our global Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) practice, I focus on due diligence and pre-merger planning. I help clients across a wide range of industries to assess and execute growth strategies. At Accenture, I remain an advocate for diversity and social causes. I have been a leader in the New York Strategy Talent Council, where I worked with a broad team of colleagues to strengthen our diverse strategy community. I also had the opportunity to be an Intrapreneurship Coach for a client team.
Recently, I led an M&A engagement for two global nonprofit organizations through Accenture Development Partnerships. On the engagement, I was the M&A expert, guiding a team of executives through everything from due diligence to creating a new operating model and organizational design for the merged entity. Bringing together my current M&A work with my deep experience in international development has been a highlight of my time at Accenture!
Diverse perspectives deliver the best ideas.
I am a strong believer in diversity at all levels. My best project experiences at Accenture have been working on teams that include people of diverse cultural and social backgrounds who are able to bring a broad spectrum of experiences, viewpoints and approaches to our clients. It’s also important that people from diverse backgrounds have leaders they can relate to and learn from.
One of my passions is coaching and mentoring junior colleagues in the firm, particularly women, helping them to develop a well-rounded consulting toolkit. I also recently managed a major analytics study that looked at the drivers of diversity and the longevity of people from diverse backgrounds at Accenture. I’ve been lucky in my time at Accenture to collaborate with diverse leaders and teams.
I truly believe we do our best work and deliver the highest quality products to our clients when we draw on the full breadth of the world around us.
