Technology Consultant, Accenture in Ireland
May 21, 2018

I am a Global Citizen. I am Accenture.

European Flags

Born in China and educated in Ireland, I’m very familiar with the concept of “global citizen,” because I identify as one.

Joining Accenture was such a natural choice for me because I found a network of people from across the globe and different walks of life, who are dedicated to constant innovation. Now, as a member of this diverse family, I can say the journey has been amazing.

Learning and growing all the time
The culture at Accenture, its energy and its people are great. I get exposed to the latest technologies, and I have the freedom and flexibility to figure out how they work and how they can positively impact the world. I’ve always admired Accenture’s great reputation worldwide. And as an “insider,” I can now see why.

The culture of mentoring and career counseling is so much more powerful than at other firms where I’ve previously worked. Conversations are open and two-way. You have direct access to leaders and HR managers to help you position yourself for success. People don’t just bury themselves in front of their computers; they reach out and try to help when you are struggling or in need of some advice.

Diverse thinking drives creative solutions
My typical day as a technology consultant involves a lot of creative problem-solving. Imagine obtaining huge amounts of data that hold the potential to truly change a business. I get to infuse the power of analytics and transform that data into meaningful and useful information for the client in a way that is visual, creative and dynamic—not the traditional reporting method. And since our team comes from a variety of backgrounds and geographical areas, our diverse approaches and experiences results in better solutions for our clients.

Teaching future ninjas
Outside of my project work, I also engage in an entirely different global network: CoderDojo. A global initiative of free computer programming clubs for young people, CoderDojo gives me the chance to combine my love for coding and passion for teaching. I volunteer to teach young “ninjas” to code, develop websites and create apps and games. I absolutely love being able to help young people build a better future through technology and instill in them the creative, diverse thinking I see every day at Accenture.
