Getting to Equal: Are we closing the gender gap at work?
By: Accenture Recruitment

IWD

It’s no secret that gender inequality is a challenge affecting women around the world. In a recent report, released as a part of our 2016 celebration of International Women’s Day, Accenture shows that digital fluency – the extent to which one embraces digital technologies – is significantly leveling the playing field and helping to close the gender gap.

Among our key findings are:

  • Currently, women comprise less than 40% of the global workforce

  • Women attained higher levels of education than men in 16 of the 31 countries studied

  • 49% of all women – and 56% of millennial women – aspire to be in leadership

  • 61% of women in emerging markets – versus 29% in developed markets – would like to start a business in the next five years

Learn more about the key insights from this report – and don’t miss participating in our celebrations of International Women’s Day happening now.
